Hosting behind two routers?

Of all people on the community I should at least know how to figure this one out...

I've got two routers, One is a linksys and one is a belkin. First of all. I freaking hate belkin. Now,

Here's my setup

[The internet]--------Linksys--------Belkin

I have successfully port forwarded my linksys router, so that's out of the question. It's my belkin router, which is second in line that I can't seem to get ports exposed to the internet on. I don't know what I'm missing, the subnat mask are the same on both routers.

Linksys router IP 192.168.3.1
Belkin Router IP 10.1.10.1 which is set to get a static IP from linksys (192.168.3.8 ). I've told my linksys router to DMZ to 192.168.3.8, and forwarded my ports on my belkin to my machine I'm trying to expose ports on.

Maybe I'm missing something here... Is it even possible to expose ports behind my set up?

To be perfectly I'm not sure you should even need two routers... but all the same, Belkins are pretty easy to forward ports on even if they are a bit crap. It may be that it is indeed impossible.

Actually, here's an update. And this will better explain why I have two routers (copied and pasted from the irc)

(2:10:01 PM) TwinShadow: personally*
(2:10:36 PM) VSMIT: Why are you running two routers?
(2:11:06 PM) squirrelof09: Well, let's just say I have a wireless card in my desktop PC. mom doesn't know I threw a linksys router in the cables downstairs :p

All other computers in the house connect to the belkin (which is last in line). I would connect to he linksys to be able to either, host on bz2 or be on the internet when I really am not supposed to be. The problem is, anytime I would host bz2 on the linksys, all webtraffic would come to a complete stop on the belkin... Immediately after I ended my hosting session web traffic would resume.

Well, with that issue answered, I still need to test if hosting causes web traffic to completely stop now. If I have problems at that step, I'll be back.

Thanks again VSMIT.

If you were looking to use a linksys instead of a belkin without anybody knowing, plug the linksys in where you cant see it and then put the belkin somewhere visible with the wires leading away, but don't plug them in. Would make things easier, I think.

squirrelof09

That's exactly the setup. The linksys is Taped and riveted under the desk where the connections are. :)

Then why do you need to portforward the Belkin if it's a dummy?

squirrelof09

I have to switch to my belkin during the day when I have internet access allowed by my parents. They are smart enough to judge by the blinking lights to see that I am on. If I stayed with the linksys, the belkin would show no activity. Plus, I need to be on the belkin so I know when my parents unplug it, that way I know if I need to hide the fact I am on the internet if my parents come up stairs.

Ah, I see... I thought you were using a family computer like myself. Though ours is always connected, and my parents are completely tech-illiterate (actually worse than NK1's who I know are awful) so I guess that's something I assume of other people's parents too...

My father doesn't know how to use explorer and insists on using some 16 bit image browser.
My mother is tech literate but she assumes she is much more so than she really is.
My brother spawns viruses that attack our network.

My mother actually knows more than me on the networking bit.

What operating system are you running?
I have a wired/wireless network with two routers and it was a pain to set up. But I got it figured out.
Secondly if you are running windows xp click start, click run, type cmd, type ipconfig and post a screen shot of the ip addresses.

First of all, give the Linksys router a static IP on the network (AKA: DHCP reservation) In addition, set the Linksys router as the DMZ computer (from the Belkin's configuration). This will effectively uncomplicate things by a whole lot.
