I selected "easy"

(BTW, I did not notice the mission description stating we had to deploy the recycler, I thought we had to escort it to a dust off site for a pick up not build a base)

Either way (deploy or not) very soon after getting the recycler to the nav beyond the ice I was attacked by several warriors (about 3?), one or two lancers, and someother ships (sentries?scouts?).
It's hard to count when there's a swarm of enemy ships    and the mission is over before I can swear  :x .

Theres clearly something to fix about that mission's difficutly.

Oh, and dont listen to the recycler driver when he's saying he can reach the nav on his own    (ice patches destroyed), he has managed to drive and fall in the water ending the mission... :x

Snow Blind, on medium difficulty was very difficult IMO, but on easy it was ok (also because I knew what was going to happen and prepared from the get go, but had it been the first time I had been on that mission it would still have been too hard for an 'easy' setting)

{for Thin Ice, since there's no way I cant fight all those ships rushing the recycler, I went directly to their base instead of going to the recycler, they dont attack until you at least reach the recycler. So with the sabre, sniper rifle, satchel charge and patience I managed to destroy the entire Scion base and all ships in it :D . I'll reaload from there and go to my recycler to help it navigate throught the ice. This time I hope there's not much ships in the rush...}

OvermindDL1

I have done that before as well ICE, they still are spawned by the dll I believe, at least some of them, not near all...

Der Vampyr Engel

I selected "easy" but I still get the swarm, it's a pity you can't deploy elsewhere, get a few units up and then undeploy, yes I am having difficulty with this mission as well but I see a few have got past it on here.

Then again this was always a strange mission (Remember when you finished it and you still couldn't get past the mission unless you killed all the Ice Rhinos?) aned as this is a beta I suspected this particular mision would have it's problems :s

Der Vampyr Engel

Correction I had it on "meduim" now I have selcted easy lets see if it solves the problem

Der Vampyr Engel

Bloody hell that's taking the piss isn't it? I mangaged to get the Recycler depolyed then got a massive Scion Rush, 5 Warriors, 1 Lancer 1 sentry
it was OK for a while but as soon as the the cut scene ended and my wingman and me took care of the second pair of a Warrior and Sentry All hell breaks loose????!??!!!!! What's going on???????!!!!!!!!!!?????????

PhoeniX-FlamE

read the other topic... if ive done it easily on hard u can as well....

deploy the rat on the pod bay
problem solved

Der Vampyr Engel

Yeah right Phoneix , if it don't work I wil get back to ya got it? by the way how do you protect the transport  hmmmmmmmm Phoenix

Der Vampyr Engel

Yeah I thought so what you were saying was lies or pure fiction Phonenix seeing as least 1 Lancer and at least 5 warroirs plus 2 Sentries come and attack my little squad but I thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt seeing as your such a "vet" and all.

Although I have a theory, Hard might be easy and the easy setting might actually be the Hard setting I will try it on Hard.

DarkFox

DVE - I did that mission very easily on Hard last week. Don't start accusing PF of giving false info mate. It's just a matter of setting up turrets, sticking one on the pod bay, and trying to distract the AI units so that they fire at you rather than the turret/transport. Then you can just dodge around.

The main difficulty of this mission, IMO, is the fact that it's so hard to set up a base due to that pool just outside your rec.

Der Vampyr Engel

Just did that Dark Fox and  Still lost the transport and Recycler I tried that at least  half a dozen times.

The problem might be with your distracting.  Are nearly all of the enemy units trying to shoot you while your turret lays into them?  The best way to get their attention is to shoot each enemy unit with one small burst each BEFORE your turret shoots them (otherwise your turret will have that units attention).  Then it's just a matter of you staying on the move but not moving too far away so that the turret has no targets.

Der Vampyr Engel

Well that might be it, I know shoot each one so they run after me that what you mean Gummo?

PhoeniX-FlamE

after awhiel they seem to leave you... mortar all of em for maxium dmg.. anyways after u deploy the rec do this:

put the transport behind the rec - near the small door...
deploy the rat on the pods bay... 1st scav scange 2nd - pool

if they kill the scav build another one - all the ships loose should give u quite alot of scrap to build 2 / 3 more turrets
spread them around to cover everything nicely... (leave the 1st one on pods bay and if i remmeber right u have some hills to put the turrets a lil behind so when the enemy ships gets clsoe all will shoot 2ghater...)

after the 1st 2 waves i think its np... get a scav to the back - and start building gts in the 3ed pool (4th if u consider the one in the back)

after 1st gt there u basicly won
and ya - i couldnt build bay because of no room by that damn pool

Der Vampyr Engel

damn I did that , the transport is at the back but get's destroyed listen I wil try this again, must be a way to get past this damn mission.

DarkFox

DVE - Just a note: The reason I said deploy far from the pool has nothing do do with surviving the first rush. I advised this because the base-building gets very difficult around that pool (wierd BZ2 ground height bug, where the ground looks green, but you can't build on it).
