Uh-oh! you can see right through those windows and out the other side (bad for frame rate) It needs an inside with flipped normals so you can only see in.

Nielk1

Actually the windows are gone because they killed anything inside of it. They are now 'invisible'.

I can mirror them and make them simple solid. OK, Done.

It looks a bit big for its base plate.  If you placed two side by side, could anything get through in between?
But otherwise, yeah, it looks like it would fit the part well.

The trick with windows is double glazing. Outside layer is glass, inside layer has flipped normals so you can see in from outside, but not out from inside.

I should shrink it a tiny bit so some units can get across the base plate.

The window issue was that a bz2 glitch made anything behind the windows not show up, even though they were like 25% opacity REFLECTION3.PIC

It is curious that anything I made before pb4 with 2 sided windows worked fine, and then after it the things did that serious glitch. The scary bit is that the old windowed models still worked fine in pb4.

The QF power gen is a perfect example of this.
Others would merely say it was good humour.

My BZ2 mods:

QF2: Essence to a Thief - Development is underway.

Fleshstorm 2: The Harvest - Released on the 6th of November 2009. Got to www.bz2md.com for details.

QF Mod - My first mod, finished over a year ago. It can be found on BZ2MD.com

Hmm...I wonder if it has anything to do with any tweaks to the .msh compiling system...

the parent mesh was OK viewed though a child window, but my other moving parts had issues.

I have had to rebuild my power gen, because all of a sudden it looked bad (pb4a) now it looks good :)
I have also noticed a few things looking bad at a distance if they have visible bits inside them, may have to rebuild my recys too...

Good? (You can't tell but there is a rotating chemical cylinder with another inside with a rotor thingy. You can see it if you are at the right angle.)

So, any emits you want added before I send it to you Jamsh?
U want me to work on a nuclear pgen model that builds on this one?

Ammendum:
MTS, use lods for you rec where only the lods don't have insides.
