Well, that Y2K thing really pissed me off. It made everyone stupid.

The millennium was 2001, not 2000, 2000 was the "OMG everything is ganna blow up" party, but they forgot somewhere along the way and called it the new millennium.

So far they have not smashed the protons together due to a malfuction with the second beam that goes the oposite direction, without the second beam there is no colision so nothing important has happened yet.

I think I heard said black hole would be undetectable and would take about 500 or so years to have an effect and maybe a millennia before it has enough mass to actually rapidly destroy the planet.

That is one of their prime attributes and the main reason that we actually know so little about them. Personally I have big doubts about currently accepted theory's as to their true nature.

Not sure what a black hole is in that.
