Easily Dark Reign II.  :-D Though it's also RTS as well. Man I played the crap out of that game.  Even  though  the AI pathing sucked! and had a death wish.

Has anyone noticed that in the CNC series (new ones, old ones alike) that the camera NEVER zooms out far enough?

SCFA doesn't have that problem, i mean you can zoom out so far you can see the battle ground as little colored specks representing your units.

Old ones? If your resolution is high enough, that's not a problem.

-.-' i Run RA3 on high detail 1600x1200 res, and it really doesn't zoom out very far.
