This is what hughesnet gets me with 1200 RTT and 2 Mbps (megabits?):

local: Start Test
local: Control channel to server established.
local: version handshake complete.
local: error reading control channel: Connection reset

I tried that, stated that I was getting 11.294379 Mb/s, which is odd since my Internet Service is only rated to 8 Mb/s (although I do routinely get faster downloads than that...).

Hughesnet is what some of places that I do tech support for use.  I am not sure how their residential service is, but their business service is absolutely top notch.  Only problems we ever have with them is dead equipment (very rare, unlike the crap upon crap Wayport), or bad weather (out of their control).  Latency seems to average 700ms to 1200ms.
