how do i get recys and ships to spawn when i start the game?
i spawn but in edit mode i start in the ship i last edited in

but in regular /non editor/ it is just me in my ship at the player starting spawn (the human base)
when the game start it says "All players have lost recys and factories"

lol ... Is it really that hard to read a little ?

From every .inf file in the 1.4ta5 install for MPI maps:
svar7 = "mpi" // Custom shell page to pull up [actually bzshell_multi_####.cfg]

yes and for instant action its another var. Look at a stock map's inf file and see what settings are there :)

i have read trough the list u stated red spot i did not see anything

i dont know if this makes a diff but i am running pb4a

OK if you have use spawnpoints for the Recyclers and they still dont show when you run "the game" (not the editor) ..
Have you assigned a dll to your map ? If you dont assign a dll nothing will happen as the dll spawns units, sets AIPs, etc etc ...

If you are new to mapmaking I do however suggest you load up an existing map and study that, you likelly are forgetting things and if you will try and find out what later on without fully understanding what you actually have been doing than it will become a lot harder to correct it ...

i am making an IA but for some reason i cant goto extra options on the pregame screen the extra options button dose not exist
this makes it so i cant pick what recy type i want to play w/
i also cant pick what race i want to be?

Check the map's info file against that of other instant action maps.

The DLL does all the work. You send it data and it knows what to do.
Instant maps should use the instant DLL since it knows to look at the type of var that instants use (not Ivars or Svars).

To get the Extra Options page and Race Selection, copy the .INF file from another map and tweak the name settings to your needs.

Otherwise it uses the old 1.0 method where everything is set in stone.

Gone to college, but I now have internet.

hello  where do i find the .INI files?    i have look at many IA folders, searched for the using the "search" tool but i have not been able to find any .INI
is it in the configuration setting?

i looked in all the instant action files i could find
:-(

GSH

Hosolon - as I said on irc, it's .inf. Not .ini.

Next, you'll need to learn about .pak files, and how to crack them open. Try some of the sticky threads on this board.
