I found that issue too, I opened it by creating first an IA game on it, then opened in the editor, after I finished work, removed the CPU recy, and all things that doesn't belong there, then put into the multiplayer folder :)

Battlezone 2 / Spectator mode?
October 31, 2009, 03:00:02 PM
Hey people, is there a way in Battlezone 2 to separate the server client from the player client... I had some trouble when I was hosting a game from my other computer, and left it. Other players joined, we played strategy, player limit was 5, and the server machine's player got a recycler, and the new joiner had a hard time to reach his base site, he joined later to the game, and game put him on another player.
So the question is if there's a way to build a 'spectator' mode to Bz2.

the best idea would be to leave your home pc on and use Teamviewer, it's a simple remote control program, you don't even need to install it, just run it and it works, I use it every time i'm away from my pc. :)

well I was adding 16.3 to each level, so it can differ as you go down, all I need is to move the elements to their good position. Thanks for the advise :)

well I was trying to align the tunnels, the value is about 16, but not exactly 16, about 16.3 or something like it, it's because with 16 the tunnels on the way down have some gap between each other. Will try it with 16.

well, build a scav is not so hard, but for example build 2 walkers and 6 service trucks is a bit more difficult when you are in a mortar bike and circling around a walker.

With years of experience in gaming...

Battlezone can't be merged into one style of game, and that's why it's so unique. New players won't like it because it's very hard to play, so it won't be the most popular game ever. It needs some fanaticism, to sit down, and play, learn tactics, strategies, and tricks, ranges, and to learn face to face combat.
You even have to learn the physics of the game. I remember when the first time I showed BZ2 to my cousin, he was angry, he played it like someone who's first playing an FPS, and he found it strange that vehicles slide after you release the forward button, not stop immediately like in the FPS games. He gave it up there.

I began to play the game in '99, played the demo at least 200 times, and fell in love in first sight with the game. I was about 9 when began to play the full version... Short after it came out in '99 October if I remember well. When I got exposure to the Internet later, well fist time it was an awful experience... The game has lot more memory usage in mp than in sp.
About a year later I've tried with a faster machine... That was the best experience I've ever had. The players were friendly and I think we played free for all on Ground 4, and last more than 3 hours... Before the day of my first test of the school leaving exam :D.

Oh I just gone away from the topic.

All I have to say that Battlezone 2 is the 'hardest to master' game for me, and that's why I like it :)

Battlezone 2 Mods / Map updated!

I've done some deeper testing of the map, and it had too many turrets on it, so I removed them, hope you will still enjoy it.

Link remained the same, recommended to download the new version.

Battlezone 2 / Speech control for BZII
October 28, 2009, 02:03:35 PM
I was wondering about on how to make BZ 2 a bit easier, and considered that it can be done with speech recognition technology!

I'm not so pro in programming, that's why I don't do it myself, but I bet there's some programmers who know BZ 2 better.
Here's the link for the software development kit:

It has a working example to Age of Empires 2, I hope it helps you and we see a speech controlled BZ 2 soon.

Battlezone 2 Mods / Map released

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum, but i've been searching for the correct topic, didn't find it, so I use this part of the forum to present my first map ever created.

It's called Strange fortress, basicly inspired by ST River4, but made some adjustments.
It's good for strat and allied strat even (when u set 'teams' in FFA strat mode).
Complete tunnel systems, some hidden weapons and rooms, etc.

Here it can be downloaded: http://cid-8a32c4301e0722eb.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/ST/STStrange.zip
