Battlezone 2 / DMVehicles and MPVehicles

OK, I know what they do. I know how to use them. I just keep hitting the unit limits when adding two entire races to them. Is there some way I can increase the number of units that can fit into the Choose Vehicle box so they don't get cut off half-way down? I intend to get units from all four-and-a-half races into Deathmatch and Strategy as soon as possible.

I will need to speak to these guys to ask them for help. Some are fairly easy, others may take time. If any of you guys know where I can find them, I'dd be very greatful.

As you know, there are all guys who did VOs in FE. If they're still around, I'd like them to do some in my mod... of course, I know it may be difficult to get on to Gray, so I can kill his character off quite easily. Others, like Wyndt-Essex (Mrs. Manatee) play an essential part in the mod and may be difficult to find, whilst BSer (Hardin) should be no problem, as he was working on Cerberi Revenge not long ago.

GTK Radiant?

GTK Radiant is a Q3 map-making program, one that I used to use in my Q3 days and know the controls of. Since I am so utterly awful working in any conventional modelling programs, is there any way I can get either a modelling program that works in the same way (Brush-drawing, download it and draw stuff if you don't know what that means) or some way I can convert sets of brushes into .xsi and .msh models?

On occasion, I start a game and I get a nice little data box with what appears to be some form of chart in the corner, just above the objective box. What is it and is there a toggle command for it?

Battlezone 2 / Hardpoints and Turrets

I'm trying to make a Hadean Megagun based on the ISDF Artillery from SRV. The problem is that the Hadean MegaGun model doesn't have a Mortar hardpoint or a turret. How can I add these using freeware programs that are fairly easy to use?

EDIT: This should probably be in Maps and Mods.

I'm having a couple of problems getting my mod to be fully compatible with MP.

First of all, there are too many vehicles for the MPvehiclelist and DMvehiclelest files. Is there some way I can increase this limit, and is there any particular reason it is in place?

Second, I cannot play as the Cerberi due to the fact that they have no pilots. Is there a cerberi pilot model kicking around somewhere, or will I have to make him?

I've run across a couple of problems in the making of the EDF variant for my new mod.

1) X-47 texture
        No matter where I look, I can't find the texture for the top of the X-47 Experimental Tank's cockpit. It's 'ivcorbin' in the FEdata.pak file, and I've checked its folder - nothing. Anybody know where I can find this texture? Or how I can find it, without extracting the whole .pak into addon?

2) Recycler and Factory mod lists
        I've got a lot of new vehicles in both the recycler and factory. Unfortunately, they won't show up in the unit customisation lists, and neither will the new weapons I have made. Anybody know how I can get them to show up? I did this on my old variant, as you can see...


3) Cargo Transporter cockpit
        The cargo transport (the massive version of the Interceptor that was first used in FE) has a semitransparent cockpit window like most ships, but unlike the other ships, by looking through the window from the outside, I can see straight through the vehicle and through to the floor below. I'll put up a screenshot of this so you guys know what I mean.

Maps and Modding / Scion chrome morphing effect

Can anybody tell me how to add a chrome morphing effect to a Scion vehicle? One I have is missing it, which makes it look out of place. How do I add this effect?

Battlezone 2 / 1.2 Exploits Library

OK then. This may not be a good idea, and if you globmods want to, feel free to take it down. And please don't shout at me as you do so :P

In a recent conversation with TopGun and ZeroAngel (and a couple of others) about FE/1.2 games, we started discussing exploits... I thought that since a good few here (like me) are 1.3 only players who rarely venture into 1.2, it would be useful to have a library of these exploits for when we do venture out into 1.2 to avoid us getting completely smashed by the dreaded 1.2 vets.

I know none of these exploits, so anybody who does, please tell us.

EDIT: I think a couple of guys misunderstood... this is do we know what is going on so we don't fall for it as easily. Valid counter tactics would be nice, but I don't think that's allowed :P

Posted this at BZ2MD, thought I might as well post it here...

I am aware that most of us have trouble accessing FileFront for all kinds of things - mostly downloads, but in the case of EPIC, screenshots too. I have discovered that there is a simple workaround to this.

Method 1:
  Find your browser .exe and run it as another user.

Method 2:
  Log on as another user. The other day, I was able to access the EPIC screenshots from my brother's user.

Method 3:
  Use a different browser. I use Google Chrome, and FileFront won't go at all. I launch it in iexplore, it works fine.

I was trawling through data.pak the other day, and discovered two maps I hadn't used before...

BZ2001.bzn
demo01.bzn

BZ2001 seems to cause a massive (and I mean massive) crash, which opens the error log at least twenty times (enough to take the alt-tab window to three rows) and then completely locks up the system, whilst demo01 is a replica of the BZ2 demo map - complete with rocket tank, spire, guardians, and weapons... though there are no mission-specific objects (probably because I loaded it in PB4a editor which disabled the DLL).

I know you guys have discovered them before, but I just wanted to ask if these maps have ever actively been enabled or used in standard play before, and just generally ask about any other easter eggs you guys may have been found.

I already know about the singing tree and the son's photo, by the way.

Yeah... basically, I want to put this lot in a mod, or a global patch, or... something... and I want to know if it's possible. And I want ideas, too, I don't have much. Here's a list...


Camouflaged Team Colours (as seen in ZST - selectable through a dialog box in IA and MP, much like recycler variant)

More realistic scrap pieces (simple model switch - reflective silver blob to 'ship bits', makes it look more like bits of blown apart ships - thanks to TJ for the idea)

Battlezone 2 Bonus Missions (ZTV: The Journey [with permission, of course] and Battlezone 2 Demo Mission converted to IA so they can be played whenever)
