PB5.1.  And to answer your two questions on the pic GBD posted,
Quotewhat the heck is this?
Either a hatch or plate armor of some kind.  Don't forget the two hand holds that are just under the turret there!

they're there, it just doesn't show up very well...

Nope, that looks like a hand railing to me.  A single railing with the shadow under it.

you're right! That would make more sense too. Thanks!

I thought everyone knew how to prevent that red screen by now.

for the bolts: segmentRadius = 0.01

If you want it in BZ2, just remember that the triangle ceiling is 20k. :-D

is that for ta5, or pb5.1? ta5 doesn't work on my computer, dial-up is way to slow to download pb5.1...

here are some thing I think might be done, but I'm not sure...

note: do not EVER get dial-up; it takes forever to upload pics...

EDIT: 'need to be', not 'be'; big difference...

Very nice, keep it up. I would love to help with the texture if you need it. Poly count?

ooh, unfunny... at least 10k, but that's my fault. the problem is I had 2 6x18x6 face cylinders for the barrels... totally fixable

EDIT: I also had 5x10x1 face cylinders for the hand grips...

Battlezone 1 / Grizzly model...

when GBD posted that pic that was supposed to make us all drool... I looked at it and said, 'That's a regular grizzly, with some fancy stuff tacked on. I betcha I could do that'

So here it is...

and the original pic...

and the 'regular' pic...

be honest and tell me what you think. I'm sure it's riddled with flaws, but then I'm kinda new to this stuff, so give me some slack.

Battlezone 1 Patch Board / Re: Battlezone Modeling
December 17, 2009, 04:56:51 PM
just found something out about the "real" grizzly: the grizzly in GBD's sig is the same as the one in the cd installer background AND the background for bz's menus.

*feels deflated because no "real" grizzly model has been made.

this is what I found:

1.0 czar has rounded barrel tip
1.4 czar has square barrel tip

1.0 grizzly has square barrel
1.4 grizzly has rounded barrel

can't find how to make the tip on the czar dissapear though, anybody know how to do this?

Not for me, I have LA on in that czar cockpit pic there.

:[ O ] Dude! no kidding, eh? <slips hand under table for gbd's disc...> Gotta check this out and make sure it's with LA on, and not off.

EDIT: had to 'fix' ascii 'face'

what does all this have to do w/bz modeling? *notes to self all topics I have hijacked

GBD, you are usually so thorough, but you missed one little thing: If you have LA on, the tip cannon on the czar cockpit dissapears.

Seriously. Wine is much easier. With linux I had to download every package to support blender before I could install but with wine I just had to get python and blender installers and I was done.

it may be better to download all the packages to support blender for you distro, because you won't be able(I'm pretty sure) to run any software you install by wine as fast as the linux version. depending on what distro version(which do you have?) and your computing power, you may not notice it at first, but it is definitely true.

...the Linux version doesn't even work right.

sometimes the linux version of some software isn't the latest, depending on you distro version, cause nobody wanted to compile the latest version because, well, just because. I know, cause the same thing happened to me for something else. If you are wanting the latest and greatest, NEVER rely on the built in software installer. get the sc from the website and compile it yourself. If you are serious about switching to ubuntu, go completely.

EDIT: win2k? ok, gotcha....

eh, I think dx is right, in that the stock weapon shouldn't be changed. Maybe like someone said, make it be able to target a little better, maybe like a less powerful hornet? who knows...
