We could definately do that, though I think we should try to find something a bit less overdone. I believe what you have put forth has been done a bit to much.

Here's another, I'll try to make them mostly space themed

A carbon planet, also referred to as a diamond planet or carbide planet, is a theoretical type of planet proposed by Marc Kuchner that could form if protoplanetary discs are carbon-rich and oxygen-poor. According to planetary science, it would develop differently from Earth, Mars and Venus, planets made up mostly of silicon-oxygen compounds.

Such a planet would probably have an iron-rich core like the known terrestrial planets. Surrounding that would be silicon carbide and titanium carbide. Above that, a layer of carbon in the form of graphite, possibly with a kilometers-thick substratum of diamond if there is sufficient pressure. The surface would contain hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. Extraterrestrial life might be possible if water is present, but the highly reducing environment could result in metabolism taking the opposite approach to that of terrestrial life, with oxygen-bearing compounds being eaten as food to react with the carbon-based atmosphere.

The pulsar PSR 1257+12 may possess carbon planets that formed from the disruption of a carbon-producing star. Carbon planets might also be located near the galactic core, where stars have more carbon.

Carbon planets are predicted to be of similar diameter to silicate and water planets of the same mass, potentially making them difficult to distinguish

Merry Christmas to all, and a merry break from the chaos of life to play BZ!

Depends of course if the third faction is still usable, which I do believe it is.

I have a few ideas of my own:

A. Perhaps instead of time travel simply have the campaign on a far off planet reached with a very powerful wormhole or other theoretical speed of light travel mechanism.

B. I started a thread in the Overdrive Terminal to post Wikipedia articles and began the thread by posting one about a theoretical kind of planet called a Cthonian planet, perhaps we could some how incorporate this into the story.

C. Black holes, I just love 'em.

this is basically a place to post some interesting wikipedia articles you may find and discuss them. I'll start with a very interesting piece I came across:

A Chthonian planet (pronounced /ˈkθoʊniən/, sometimes misspelled Cthonian), is a hypothetical class of celestial objects resulting from the stripping away of a gas giant's hydrogen and helium atmosphere and outer layers. Such atmospheric stripping is a likely result of proximity to a star. The remaining rocky or metallic core would resemble a terrestrial planet in many respects.[1]

HD 209458b (Osiris) is an example of a planet that is in the process of having its atmosphere stripped away, though it is not itself a Chthonian planet nor is it expected to become one in the near future.

COROT-7b may be the first Chthonian planet discovered.[2]

Chthonia χθων means "of the Earth" in Greek. The term was coined by Hébrard et al., since the term Chthonian generally refer to Greek deities from hot infernal underground.

I also agree, anything else to discuss?

I don't know how it could do that. Unless there was some form of bug on the website that did it, though someone would most likely pick up on it. Maybe its that Battlezone takes so much energy to run that balancing it along with the website causes an overload of the system.

I don't know, but we certainly do need one.

I am confused.  :|

But that is besides the point, now, back to our original topic.

I'm with Neilk on this one, it just looks, too, odd. Looks like you are trying to give the pheonix impression. Should we still keep the pheonix as the symbol later on, try to make the pheonix part of it a bit less subtle

QuoteIron Maiden would be automatically excluded from joining the writing committee, unless he withdraws his story

ZA, I never actually submitted a story. I said I had an idea for one but if put on the story committee I would write one dealing with the main ideas of the story up till now, if that is what everyone wants.

Unless of course you are talking about my rough story plot-line I posted a while back before we had assigned writers. In that case if elected I would dismiss it for others ideas.

should we have multiple elected writers to write multiple stories, a few questions:

A. How many writers will we have?

B. Will they be writing completely new stories or sticking with the main idea of the current one?

C. Is there a possibility to veto?

so, do we have a final verdict on what we're doing here?
