Ok, I've installed a fresh copy of Battlezone 2, applied the pb 1.3tech alpha5.1 patch successfully with no errors. The first time I run the game it runs excellently, BUT...after I put all of the graphics as high as the game allows, which don't freak out about that, my computer plays games like DOOM3, Oblivion + Shivering Isles, Street Fighter IV, Gears of War, and Unreal Tournament 3 at full blast with no problems, plus many more, but anyway, after I do put graphics all the way up, and restart Battlezone 2, as soon as I double click the icon and the Activision Intro is ABOUT to come up, it just sits there with a black screen, doing absolutely nothing until I press any key...No error message came up, just a filled Battlezone 2 Log File under MyDocuments...

Although I enjoy programming games, well at least trying to, in XNA,C++,Visual Basic,and Dark Basic Professional, I don't fully understand this log file, or any Windows log file at that. As you can see, my debugging skills stink :-o
I tried using compatibility mode for 95, 98/98SE, and XP, yet no success, then I tried to do the same while running in Admin Mode, still no luck...
I tried 3 times to Uninstall Battlezone 2,Delete ALL files that I know for sure has to do with Battlezone 2, except for the Patch's installer, and deleted what I know from the Windows registry, did a fresh install successfully, even restarted the computer after installing just to be sure, installed the patch, restarted to be double sure, ran it, changed prefs., got out, ran it again, get the above log....and over, and over, and over.
This is my current Dell XPS M1530 Setup:
Windows Vista Home Premium
DirectX 10(both the DX10 SDK and DX9 SDK are installed)
Intel Core 2 Duo each @~2.4Ghz
3GB of RAM
nVidia Geforce 8400M GS with about 1400MB of Display Memory and 128MB of Dedicated Memory(Yes, it's DX10 capable)
the laptop monitor supports 1440X900X32 from this VidioCard
so I would think that it should be more than enough, sense this is my first time having a problem with this Patch.
Help would be greatly appreciated...

When you install it, you must install the software that it prompts you to. That may be your problem, especially if you didn't install the Dx9 that it came with.
Also, please make sure you're running the latest drivers for your nVidia card. Do not trust the drivers that Windows distributes. Instead, go to http://www.nvidia.com/ (http://www.nvidia.com/) and select them from their list.
If you put /safemode on the commandline, BZ2 will drop back to the simplest settings (640x480, no FSAA, etc). I suspect that there's some option that is making your card unhappy. Your job is to figure out what option it is, and probably just avoid it if the latest drivers don't help.

Ok, I will try to use that OLDER dx9 and see if that works, even though I have latest of 9 AND 10! As for the other software, I let it go through all of that, even though I have the entire Visual Studio 2008 from Microsoft's VS 2008 express edition page. And, this first happened when I had the latest nVidia drivers, THEN I went with the ones DELL says, "You have to have our drivers or we won't help you with ANY problems until ALL of your system drivers and configuration are in the way we gave them to you!" Every time I change something like updating drivers, stupid DELL!, I'm temporarily voiding the 3 year warranty that my Dad paid for on this computer, which was technically given to me for College. I wish he had let me pick what I wanted withing the $1,400 budget he set for getting me this, but oh well, I'm stuck until I can have enough money to build my self a Desktop computer that runs just as good as Alienware for UNDER $3,000. We figured out a way to build it like that.
Anyway, the thing about the trying all the options is one of those "maybe Yes that's what's doing it"/"no that's not it" sort of things. "Yes" because I have more on my hard drive than before I had the virus and reinstalled windows, but "No" because I've done it before about 2 weeks ago on pb1.3ta5 with ALL of the graphics all the way UP, and it ran at about 45 FPS. Looked awesome!
Never the less, I will try EVERY suggestion that has been made to me and I will turn off FSAA just to see if that does it, because in Oblivion, Unreal Tournament 3, etc...I can't have that on or it's a slide show. Plus the FSAA quality being set at 2 on 8x FSAA might do it, though I've done it before.

Ok, I figured out what it was, I CAN have every thing on High EXCEPT FSAA Quality MUST be at 0 while the FSSA Factor is on 8x! Forgot that's what I did last time, so thank you for your advise, GSH, for telling me to try adjusting different options at a time!
@TheJamsh: I thought that everybody was a Quake fan...I hardly ever come across an Unreal Fan! Cheers!!!

Thats all that showed for it and this one was on 11-21-09 at 2:43 pm. Happened when i was a pilot and got killed by a gun tower while sitting on a tech center or a training center. I was scions as well and the map was scrap pit.

This one happened just by joining a dm map called circle and i did enter the game and then it froze.
Drivers are updated to the best they can and I have all settings set to low.
