Sonic Reality studio (makers of samples and VST/VSTi's) gives a video tour of their collection of vintage keyboards (modular synths, clavs, e-piano's, organs, et al), mostly from the 1970's era and thereabouts, as well as some modern ones.  They'll play a few familiar riffs and sequences from famous bands/tunes, to explain their origins.  A Haken Continuum is also discussed a little, something I wanted to get back when it came out ~5 years ago, although they don't power it up.  Anyway, if you're a synth geek like me, then you'll probably want to watch.  Brought to you by Keyboard Mag (a fine magazine I've been reading since the mid 1980's).

Overdrive Terminal / Shredded... to a pulp
November 08, 2009, 02:41:04 PM
Speaking of guitar "shredding" in the Miles Davis thread, here are a few guitar parodies of Santana, Iron Maiden, van Halen, Malmsteem, Metallica, etc all done by StSanders.  Hilarious stuff.  A lot of guitarists I know pissed their pants watching.  :-P

I like the one where Ozzy is clapping and making gutteral sounds in the Jake E Lee clip.  Keep in mind, some of these were banned from Youtube.

Overdrive Terminal / Happy birthday, mouse.
December 01, 2008, 09:59:52 PM
To all us computer gamers who use the keyboard+mouse combo, we appreciate Mr. Engelbart for giving us new ways to develop trigger fingers and RSI.   Happy 40th to our little tailed plastic friend.

General Wiki Stuff / News page?
October 10, 2008, 11:32:38 PM
Now that BZU has a front page again, i.e. wiki, will there be a some sort of news page on it, such as on the home page of the wiki?  Or is Battlezone-related news so slow and rare these days that it's not necessary anymore?   If there will be a news page, it would be nice to see all the news put back up starting since the days of PBZ, Ghostfire, Menacer and later.  News stuff gives BZU (and these 2 games) a sense of history, legacy and years of communal activity, not to mention good ol' reminiscing.  Someone would need to compile all that news text content off webarchive.org or whatnot.

If no newspage, that's ok.
