I whipped up a team color editor for BZ2 1.3, click this link to read the basic details and for the download (http://www.overminddl1.com/forum/index.php/topic,875.msg5507.html#msg5507).

I like it!
Might I suggest having an image of a sabre and warrior together showing the teamcolors of the last edited line, or at least some kind of unit preview?
Might come in handy to see exactly how it would show up in game, similar to ODLWinter, but it doesn't have to be 3D (extra credit if it is! :P)
Team 0 is really Team 1... right?
And do I just save this to the root folder?
No, Team 0 is Team 0, i.e. "No team" (grey on radar)
So no bugs found?
This is a first version thing so I expect some sort of bugs, especially with how complicated the code is in some areas relating to file loading/saving. :P
And I could show a preview, but unless I know the exact way BZ2 draws colors, it will be off, as well as the fact that the preview window surrounded by your desktop will give another 'feel' to the colors that would be unlike the game. Best to check inside the game itself, but I could add a preview if really wanted.
And yes, Team 0 is the neutral team, as Steeveeo said, the ones that are gray on the radar.
And save this anywhere, nothing special about it. It does require the VS2k5SP1 runtimes, but since BZ21.3 installs those for you, you have everything you need, just run this from anywhere.

Wait... so I save it... and then I just run it and it opens the game for me? I'm confused...
This program makes putting the RGB(A) values for Teamcolor much simpler. Open your localprefs.ini, make your color changes, save, run BZ2.
Oooooooooooh..... I get it now.
Sorry, I'm helpless without someone holding my hand the whole way through.
Heh, you have plenty of help here as always. :)
So no bugs? No random deletion of large chunks or even single characters of a file or anything? Is it good?

A bug with the download, it hangs on 'starting'... Any chance somebody could send me this some other way? :(
I see no issue with the download, and it has been downloaded by 37 others. What browser are you using?

Firefox, most likely same as most other downloaders.
Works fine here, and I know most others that downloaded it are using that as well. Try again?

Got an idea, I'll try it on my laptop :)
That's awesome, Thanks man!
I posted a bugfix version (yes, the first one had a bug that no one else caught, but I found by perusing the code),1.0.1.
Then I just posted a new feature version, adds presets, read the about box for details, 1.1.
Check the post on my site (http://www.overminddl1.com/forum/index.php/topic,875.msg5507.html#msg5507) for download and details.

Have any users with IE downloaded this? I've been trying figure why it crashs on me instantly... :|
Prehaps you should just use firefox :)
Im only joking, try using a download manager, and saving it on your computer, not just running it, Or viceversa
Heh I wish but one of my parents can't even figure out what a url is. And other doesn't want to do anything without my bro's (the techie) recommendation.. but I try the download manager. Thanks. :-)
Having the image of a sabre would be pointless. The ingame skin color will always be darker than the RGB value you specify in the gameprefs file or in OM's program. If you specify a very light blue, for example teal, ingame you will end up with a much darker blue.
I've had it be much brighter to. In reality it is a factor of the planet's light, as it should be.
I got it to edit team 1's color but every time I edit team 2's color then save, the change is ignored. I then close the application and reopen it, and the team 2 color is still unspecified. I have no idea what is going on with team 2's color.
Teams 0 through 15 and teamgroup A and B all use the same code (just different indices), if you can give me an ini file that demonstrates the issue I would be much appreciative.

Not quite. If the DLL says "turn on FFA colors" ( DefaultTeamColors() ), then it uses the team 0..15 settings. If the DLL says "turn on team strat/mpi colors" ( TeamplayTeamColors() ), then it uses the A/B set. Changing the FFA colors doesn't mean a thing if you run MPI, because the exe does what the DLL says.

I know that. :P
I meant inside *my* program. :)
All of those things use identical code, so I could not understand why, for example, team1 would work but team2 would not.
So yea, Commando, if you can give me a reproducible case, that would be awesome, because I cannot replicate that bug here...

Open the ini file, set some colors and set colors for Teamgroup A and teamgroup B. Save, and exit. Reload the same ini file in the program. Teamgroup A's color is set, while Teamgroup B's is not. Adding 'TeamColorTeamB = "50 50 255 255"' to the ini makes it show up in the color editor.
I was curious what exactly this affected. I want to be 'blue', but if it's a random pick of 16 colors (or the two colors for teams) then I guess you can't choose your own color?
You can you just need to make sure colors are NOT set to 'FFA'. Use either 'teamplay' or 'default'
