Battlezone 2 / Re: Losing
August 08, 2009, 10:27:27 PM
Sometimes... or quite a few times i enjoy losing.... if i know i cant win i drag the game out for hours... or make the enemy look completely stupid several times before i die  :-)

I remember once in 1.1 i had 3 bases on ground 4, every time he took something out id put it somewhere else (yea this was a noob game where we didnt attack pools)... game lasted 5 hours until he decided to kill my pools then i archerd the hell out of him that i build't up from the intire game that i was hiding... i wanted to lose though but wanted to end it more... :p

Battlezone 2 / need tech help (dedicated server)
July 27, 2009, 01:51:09 PM
We managed to dig this old dedicated server program up but it has a long way to go before its stable in 1.2 im not sure but it might not be the correct version eithor for 1.2

right now its made that it can host and people can join, first person to join can choose map and start game but it gets stuck in gamestate... if someone could tweak this program and make it work maybe we could give bz2 a jolt to 1.2 (and 1.3 like i mention below)

if possible could it also work for 1.3 later on if someone can dissect it?

http://www.orbitfiles.com/download/id4394058943.html

-edit id recommend not putting this in the 1.2 folder you use
also the basic contents we left in that came with it

im usually on 1.2 with /poweruser enabled in the shortcut, sometimes if theirs a 1.3 game i like, i join it
but i don't join zsts either so theirs hardly ever anything around.

usually on 7am -9pm central (GMT -6:00)

I have this same exact problem with the nvidia geforce 8600, only workaround that's worked for me is changing the view in game, (like changing 800/600 to 1024/768) its sometimes a pain when the buttons disappear then i need to go by sound :p

I used to enjoy making up stories for bz2...
My favorite story was the ISAF (Interplanetary Space Attack Fleet)

I don't feel like writing it down as I don't have my original script next to me at the moment, but it would fit into 1.3 with all the newer assault unit types :p

(some of these might have been mentioned before but i like to post stuff all at once and dont like browsing)

well the first thing i decided to check in 1.3 was the cubes map... some of the units on it are still the strategy units... they leave scrap where as normal dm units don't leave scrap. not sure if there's a difference anymore, just pointing it out.

I used a scion gunship earlier today, it couldn't go over a hill no matter how high i was above it. (like the small hills on titan for a example with pods on, that size)

And when you press escape in game the score gets a black background... is there a way to change it back without leaving the game for it to be clear?

and in the tunnel map underworld or whatever its called the game crashed on me when i drove into a room that was already destroyed earlier... not sure what happened if it was a bug or not

And my suggestion's are...
in game options, (changing password in game, add/remove bots, on/off button for the score chart)

1.3 pb3 worked just fine on my comp (only exception is i had to use /nodxt), you guys must of (for lack of better term... put bulk ware in pb4?  :-P )

anyway my system specs are (this is also a laptop to make matters worse)

500mhz
184mb ram - (i have no clue how they put this much in a 1997 laptop)

Now i dont know how to test for how much mb my vid card is in this piece of junk so ill just put whats in display properties
Trident CyberBlade i1 AGP (51)

oh and a 5gb hard drive (really only 2gb of space for everything)... and to make it worse... ITS SPLIT lol
