Battlezone 2 / How far have we come?

Hello everyone,
I haven't been on for a while now cause of some problems with work and school, really just the lack of free time. But I will start to get back into the community now that I have more free time.

I would like to thank all the people that have spent literally years trying to make Battlezone II the game it is today (you know who you are).
Now for those that don't really understand where I'm coming from, I would like you to reinstall Battlezone II and play it without any patches or MODs. In fact I encourage EVERYONE to do the same, because you cant truly appreciate the work that these guys have done unless you do so.

I recently reinstalled BZ2 on my computer and played it from scratch, then I installed PB5.1. Once you do this, you will have a glimpse of what these guys have done to make this game alive. There is a huge gap between what this game was and what this game is now.

Now I'm not going after anyone or trying to discourage anyone from participating in development, testing, and Q&A. But I ask you to think about the effort and time that these guys have put into this game before you post about what you don't like, what you think should be changed, or before you post at all.

So I encourage all of you to reinstall bz2 play it, then play pb5.1, after that... Post here.

So when I play as scion, my warrior tanks will randomly go out of my base and start attacking enemy units such as, scavs, extractors, enemy units attacking my scavs, and so on.

Is this supposed to happen? Is there a way to control when they go out to "hunt"?

Maps and Modding / Polygon collision boxes

I was wondering if battlezone supports polygon collisions, as in: a collision box that fits the overall shape of an object, this is mainly used for a 'tight fit' on an object for improved realism.
Or does it only support the normal 'cube' style collision boxes(fyi: the four sided collision box)?

I have been playing pb4 and have noticed how stupid the scavs are, even more so than the previous builds, you tell them to scavenge for scrap and they run into buildings trying to get it and they don't go around, is there something wrong with the collision box? Or are you not using that anymore?

I was playing on Instant testing every map, when I decided to try and deploy a scavenger myself, so I got into the scavenger, went to a pool, pressed C, then it started to deploy, then nothing, I couldn't move, jump out, eject, or even be destroyed, the only thing I could do was load a saved game or abort the mission.  :cry:

This is on stock PB4 with no mods, and not that it matters, it was on the map 'chill'.

Public 1.3 Beta 3 Archive / FE 1.3pb3 errors

So I was playing FE today and on certain maps some scrap pools don't work.
I also looked in instant and the game would launch but there would be no recy, end the console would get a shell.backround error.

anyone have the same problem?
