I've noticed some players with bad attitudes (killing empties, etc) when I was playing 1.3 today, they were fairly skilled players and were using cloaks. Immediately after the game I hosted a game and did an ipban on the offending parties (which I will likely remove after awhile).

Actually from my part the perceived "bad attitude" wasn't intentional, and your ban came as a complete surprise. Anyhow, you had no chances of winning at that point (we were in blast tanks and you were in empties with only 1-2 pools at best) so what does it really matter?

Alright. I'll talk to you about it on MSN.

I never had any problems with identifying the buildings and so on. Back like 11-10 years ago when I was a kid, and didn't quite comprehend everything, I didn't realize you must use the I key to identify the Hephaestus, causing me to fail the mission already at that point. But that was because I didn't know how to. Nothing wrong with my game. Sad to see that people are having problems with theirs, though.

Speaking of Heavy Gear, I still have the disc(s) for Heavy Gear 1. Haven't played it in at least 5 years if not more. Might give it a shot today.  :-D

I said the problem was 1.2. But np for the confusion.

Thanks for the tip Feared 1, I'll try it.

I've done that a billion times. And I copied it because that's what Nielk1 told me to do, unless he misunderstood me and gave instructions to 1.3, which I've already said at least 5 times to be working fine.

So yeah. I'll go kick my router's nuts now. Lol.

P.S. I still don't get it why it USED to work and then suddenly stopped. Haven't changed any software either, not that I know of.

Warfreak: Done all that ages ago and nothing fixed it.

Nielk1: 1.2 doesn't have "Gameprefs" or "Localprefs". In fact it doesn't have the config folder in addon at all. So I made on myself and first made a copy of Localprefs into it, and added the line handling UPNP in Gameprefs under it. Didn't work. Then I pasted the whole Gameprefs file into the 1.2 config folder (which I created) and set UPNP off. Still didn't work.

Like I already said earlier, my problem seems to be dynamic in nature.

1) People see my games and can join, but after a few or a dozen seconds they get a "Server quit" while I see it as a "Client not ponging" message, followed by "Timed out" or something. If they however can enter the game before this happens, I will get huge amounts of lag, and most of the time so do they. And then they end up getting auto-kicked because of lag.

2) People can see my games but can't join as they get a "Network timed out" message after a few seconds upon clicking "Join game".

3) People can't see my games at all.

These problems seem to cycle. RARELY it actually works perfectly for a session or two. So what the hell could be causing this? And like told before, this doesn't happen to me in 1.3. And just about 3 weeks ago BOTH versions worked FINE. I'm so confused and annoyed by this.

Nielk1, if you need a tester, just PM me. I have lots of time all around the clock (vacation now). The only downside is, that my graphics card tends to occasionally crash. Though a reboot will fix that till the next crash. If I'm lucky, the crash is only "minor", meaning the textures aren't messed up too badly for it to be completely unplayable.

About the AIPs: Now the reason I love FE's MPI so much compared to 1.3 MPI, is because it doesn't go like this: "First few mins some scouts and other light units, after that just heavy units and if ISDF, a bomber for the REST OF THE GAME" (something TJ already pointed out). Instead it throws everything at you whole game, though of course at the start you'll see some lighter units. I mainly play against Hadeans, because I find them the hardest. Mainly due to the Cerberi spamming themselves out of the portals and their occasional rampage units and monster runs (Gorgons). They simply put an awesome addition to the bio-metal grinder. And if not greased accordingly, may prove fatal to you. G66 does this too, but with less variety.

Adding a few statues and other big gun towers across the maps to "make things harder" doesn't do any good really. Nor does it make it harder. It merely slows down the inevitable: the destruction of the immensely stupid AI who sends walkers and maulers at you which are, oh, so easy to strafe.

What I personally would like to see added to 1.3 MPI is the difficulty FE and G66 can offer, and if possible, the insane difficulty of maps like ZTV: The Long Journey.

Cheers.

Never seen Skylar, only Skyler and Skyler_Davis.

And mind you, I'm almost always on. Sometimes you just can't see me. ;)

I believe Skyler is something like 7-9 years old (he himself answered 9 in one session, after I guessed that that would be his age). He's a very incompetent and non-co-operative player. I believe his, or his siblings' (or whatever) other nicks are: Skyler_Davis, xd and me.

Ark, also known as Ark_Squall so far seems to be somewhat friendly, not a very good player and whenever he joins my games he lags out. Apparently he has a bad connection, although his ping is only around 150.

Why thank you Axeminister. From what I've seen, you're pretty good yourself as well. And probably the only player I know who plays Bz2 with his wife, hehe. Good job there. :) Women don't usually like these kind of games.

Sometimes I get frustrated at less competent players, but most of the time I'm okay with them as long as they follow orders and don't do something suicidal like going solo deep beyond friendly territory and get themselves killed that way.

Believe it or not, there was some guy in Bz2 1.3 (Roundeye, to be exact) who accused me of cheating because I was a CLANMEMBER! That's the most ridiculous accusation I've ever heard in my 9 years of BZ2 (or 11 years of BZ1). Not to mention, I told him that 1.3 is cheatproof, and that I'm the only member [anymore] in my {TFF} clan (no, it's not the BZ1 {TFF} - I made this clan in Jan-Feb 2004 without knowing there was a {TFF} in BZ1). He believed neither.

Before that a couple of weeks ago I pwned this seemingly vet in a 4-way strat in 1.3, and he accused me of hacking.

Those weren't the only times I've been accused of cheating and hacking in 1.3 because I've slaughtered a few bases "too fast", but oh well.

Bloody idiots.

1) Play FE again. Early missions talk of him as Corbin, but all voice-overs talk about CorbER, and after the first few missions all briefings talk about CorbER. Thus clearly Corber was decided to be the correct spelling and pronounciation of his name, after seemingly some initial confusion in the FE team.

I concur with what BBB said about killing him off. Why would Corber have to be a main character anyway? FE didn't have Cooke or Padishah Burns and the rest in it either (understandably due to not being able to get the voice-overs, of course, but still), save for Cooke and Shabayev being mentioned in some debriefings.

2) Field marshal is the highest rank in most European and North American armies. However, like I already pointed out, the human space armies in the BZ universe seem to be a special case, where a five star general is the highest rank. EDF goes beyond this. It seemingly has no supreme rank, but instead is ruled by a council of generals.

3) I think the generals who originally were against Hardin would've been ashamed of their previous opinion once the Hadean threat became real, not vengeful. Unless they were all evil conspirators (lol).

4) Ok.

5) The Mother God and Schultz escaped in the ending of FE, AFAIK.

6) Ok.

7) I hope so.

Several hours a day, ever since I got back to it about 3 weeks ago. Though I've played BZ1 since 1998 and BZ2 since 2001, yet online only since Christmas Eve 2003. :)
