And of course you can alter the color of the terrain frame (called grid1) by changing the values in its SI_MeshVertexColors {
Then you can get the pool to match your chosen map-terrain colour exactly.

There's a tutorial on bz2maps.com that explains how to change that stuff.  It doesn't look too hard and can make your pool blend in real nice on the map.

Overdrive Terminal / Re: Army Men: RTS

What a coincidence, I recently got this game from a friend.  Can't say it was really great though. I remember unit control being pretty frustrating as you select, deselect, and assign commands with the same left-click, which meant that I often deselected when I wanted my units to attack.  Employs a resource system very similar to battlezone where destroyed units and preplaced landmarks yield "plastic" which you sent out scavengers to collect.

Keep playing, get better, and don't let losing a lot get you angry?
Just like any game, even BZ2.

Overdrive Terminal / Re: Politics

It doesn't have to involve flaming and trolling.  You can have a discussion of politics if you simply keep it civil and don't take anything personally.  Even though I don't really consider my political views to be fully formed enough to actually discuss them, I still support this thread and the ability to express ones views.

And remember, most flame wars are simply started by misunderstanding and misinterpretation.  So double check someone's writing before assuming they are attacking/shouting at you.

Wow, that did get pretty creepy there at the end.  Though it did take a while to get to it.

Maps and Modding / Re: Water on the minimap

I thought there was a way to tell the map to use a specific picture for the minimap, or am I thinking of the in-shell preview pic?

I know this isn't much of solution but, if it isn't too much trouble, couldn't you just delete the water, then generate the minimap image you'll use and then use a save of the map before you deleted the water?

Do you know how open the game will be to modding?  The ability for players to add new content can really extend the lifetime of the game's community.

Nice.  Kind of reminds me of Battlezone 1 dm gameplay.

Anyone read the dune books? There could be some races modeled after those books.

So I take it you don't know about the demo...

Thank you for explaining that better, both of you.  :-)

Feel free to close/lock, delete or whatever with this thread.  I don't want to stir up a hornets nest, I'd like to be able to come back here and ask for help at later dates!  :-D

Don't worry about it.   That's just BBB being... well, BBB.  It's not like you demanded anything or were rude so feel free to ask for any other help.

Tribes 2 for all your massive scale CTF needs.

Fallout 3 on Xbox 360.  I love exploration and fallout provides plenty of that.  Really want to get the expansions.

I occasionally play Warcraft 3.

Oh, and I recently got Tyrian to work and its really fun.  Best shmup I've played.

Was it this one?

Ok, now I remember who you are.  That thing looked awesome!  Didn't you also make some other nifty models?

Similar to that mine: a mine that emits a wide cold area effect, slowing vehicles to a crawl, serving a function similar to a mits mine.  I'm thinking of something with a wider area of effect than a flaremine, though

How about a snow-man ray? Stops them in their tracks by burying them under snow shaped like a snowman.
(sandbag+snowman geometry for vehicle explosion effect)
