Lizard reported this on www.bz2md.com.

Basically he said he made a quicksave and later tried to delete it.  When he tried to delete the quicksave, he got the following AV.

I tried to play the single player mission transformation, the first couple of times it closed with no av. the last time I tried to play it, i got this av. it was right after the start and no action happened yet. I had a window pop up with a comment about the c++ library.

I got an XFIRE message from Sean, and that very instant got this AV at the end of a rather long QF mission I was about to win and had no save for >.<

The AV did not pop up at first. I had to alt tab away and back to get a VC++ error window that when I pressed OK became a convectional AV message.

Have played the Scion SP mission 'Crystals' & at the end of the mission game crashes with the following log:

BTW running Vista Ultimate SP1 & all other missions seemed ok up to this so I can't move to next mission?

Can't even go to next mission even if I use cheat code cause crash occurs at end of mission so how can I move to next mission??

Looks like we have PB4a's common AV.

In PB4 we had the Attacker plan

In PB4a, we now have the dlfree error...

the problem is only with the editor build...which sucks because it was endless fun placing a battilion of cerberi kruls in the middle of a battle... :-D

Something crashing in dlfree sounds like memory was trashed. I fixed a case of that just before pb4a was released -- the various launchers assuming they were sending missiles. (Stock worked perfectly fine because that assumption was not violated.) Any mod that violates some other assumptions could cause crashes like this.

GSH, the dlfree AV mentioned is occuring in stock single player if I'm reading that correctly.

I think someone said the single player mission Transformation causes it.

I reproduced the av reported by tarquin and uploaded the savegames required to demonstrate it GSH.

I also ran into this AV on the same mission.

Apparently replacing fvscout.odf with a modified ivtank.odf is a bad idea.

That last one looks a helluva lot like when I try to load up a savegame after modifying a large chunk of SRV, like after I changed my filenaming conventions from _st to _srv, and tried to load a game from the _st era.

SRV, Warfreak had just sent a bunch of STs to my nav, which I had highlighted for him (nav name was Staging Point Alpha, I had place two others named similar, Bravo and Charlie), occured approx 1:55 in. He had about 4 mixed groups with one Dual Railgunning Attilla and 2 service trucks, and had 2 on my grouplist headed for the other side of the map.

This all happened in my moddified Bigmoon for MPI.

This caused by the missing terrain__h and terrain or is this someother kind of error (it is model related, only my model has caused it)

Missing terrain does not usually cause av's.
Incorrectly constructed models do, I can't see anything useful in the error, except that its a TurretCraftClass.

Is hp_eyepoint turreted in the ODF?, if it is not attached to turret_x it must be, or it cannot aim at all.

Why did you put all that detail inside where it wont be seen? (tower1 and turn)

Holy heck, please, when you link to an xsi and it is not a link to the xsi, give a warning, downloaded it and got a webpage instead, that does not parse too well...
Either way, file looks fine from a quick check, but from the callstack, I am pretty sure that error happened in a memory deallocation place, meaning that BZ2, from my previous guess, is suffering from something messing with the memory (de)allocation routines...

I found the problem....... (i actually should ahve seen this from the start).
It was one of the textures..... even thougth they were all .tga's i guess one of them mught have been corrupted in an instance.....

Wow, Anyone else have problems with the splinter firing, and APC deploying? Mine AVs everytime. It Avs ON EVERY LITTLE THING! I don't remember the other public betas doing this. Then again my assets are F**ked up.

No idea what caused this really, was on Dunes messing around with my mod, just called in the second bomber onto kill an extractor, but judging by the report, I think something else happened...

A WINE user "Harold" has reported this AV on the mission "Transformation". Can anyone else verify this AV on a Windows computer?

No idea what happened before this, as I wasnt really paying attention to all the details. It seems to be caused by a glitch in the hoverscav scrap search algorithm. No scrap on map except in enemy base (possibly not even that, the AI may have collected it all).

put simply, FE does NOT work 100% on ANY of the public betas. and this thread is not for FE or for 1.2

Most FE MP stuff has been fixed by Red Devil and should work in the next release of FE 1.3.

@Steeveeo - That looks a lot like my QF mission 7 bug which I still cannot find the cause of.

This one is a bit odd.

Multiple install on vista (especially with previous version of 1.3 and 1.2), doesnt seem to work so well. I have four versions of BZII installed on my machine, and when i start them up, i sometimes get an Savegame error, and it wittles on about a previous savegame version? Then BZ2 exits before i can get to the login screen.

I have to run some of the installs in compatibility mode so that they save to the BZII directory and not my documents directory.

IIRC you can find a line in gameprefs, copy it to local, and change it to true or false (whatever it wasn't). Take a look since I can't recall for sure.

You can put "/novista" (without quotes) on the commandline, and it'll try to put files (userprefs, pilots, saves, etc) in the same directory as bzone.exe. But, if you're not running as an administrator, the files can't be written to c:\program files. Vista will write them elsewhere. That's why the use of MyDocs is preferred (and the default) under vista. If you really find yourself wanting to not use /novista option, then it's best to install BZ2 to something like C:\users\<username>\Documents, as you always have full access to read/write files in there.

No vista sounds like the best option, rather than running in compat mode. compat mode tends to give graphics issues, like displaying in 16bit rather than 32-bit (when in the shell)

I always run BZII as admin anyway, for network privileges and the like... Vista just classes the game as 'Battlezone II' so all my saves etc get written to the same directory in My Docs, so 1.2 saves in with 1.3 etc, not fun with multiple installs.
