I was flying a turret yesterday and got some good air over a hill. I decide to delpoy while up there... It stops falling while the deploy anim plays, then starts slowly descending like its a ballon... Also, the 8 second deploy time count doesn't start until it touches ground. Took me a few mins to touch ground.... Also, if you repeatably deploy and undeploy you could take ages b4 you can down, if you so wished.
