Did you make any changes in your BIOS ?
Not sure if it could affect things but I just been googling, iirc, the PCI latency setting in the BIOS and from how I understand how it works it could cause problems with PCI devices ...

Very cool ship, one suggestion though, I would slighty rotate the cannons upwards. As it is now it wont be very effective on non-flat terrain. If you look at most vanilla units you'll see that they all have their weapons more on top of the vehicle than on the side.
It would increase the effectiveness of the unit a bit imo ... ;)

XnView is nice, its just a matter of dropping it in a folder and using it ... no installation needed and so it doesnt try to act smart like so many other programs when they try to change your prefrences ..

And the majority of players seem to join but not host games themselves. So if no-one hosts there is nothing to join ...

I don't think a BZ3 will ever exist as it is. Not many people seem to like the concept of an FPS/RTS hybrid. It works when its done right, but not too many are keen on the idea.

I guess its too difficult to multitask for lots of people, you also cant just join a game for 20min to than switch to a different server cause you got shot a bit too often for your taste as you see happen in most other MP games.
I notice that in most team-based MP games very few actually play in/as a team, in BZ you are required to do so, which is one of the main aspects I like about team-strat ...

Send them a $50,000,000 retainer and maybe they'll talk to you.

Lol, yeah to thank you for the generous donation :P

Dont know the whole story, obviously, but these kids are asking for it ...
Clear group behaviour, as long as our group is bigger than yours we feel we can do whatever we want ... than complain if something gets out of control ..
Drawing a gun may not have been the best aproach, but imagine how you would feel if you where facing 100 kids out of control and lacking any respect for authority ....

It makes me think about what happend a couple of years ago when I was out with some friends, some punkass teenager said to some cops "I 'think' you are a dick" (which is allowed here, you are free to state your opinion). Then got smacked in the face by some bystander and than was surprised the cops didnt act on it ....

Perhaps asking the obvious, but you do not have this problem when running plain BZ2 1.3pb5.1 ??
Also not on the larger MPI maps (think GH).. ??

I've had the same on previous 1.3's when playing a several hour match, but havent seen it on pb5.1 so far ...

Overdrive Terminal / Re: Memory settings and CPU usage
December 19, 2009, 05:59:05 AM
The reason I was wondering is cause I flashed my bios by mistake after I reinstalled XP and the memory clock was set to 266 by itself.
I knew it should be 400, but couldnt notice any difference. I did notice that my CPU-usage was a bit lower when the clock was set to 266, however I think that has to do with the Core optimizer from AMD. It seems the optimizer gives some false readings in taskmanager which I didnt notice before, what I mean is that if my system uses say 10% of the cpu and other processes take 5%, it shows at the bottom a usage of about 25%, roughly doubling the cpu usage of the system. Thats what basicly made me believe that setting the clock at 266 made the cpu usage lower, but it was just a matter of not yet having installed the Core optimizer.
I've done some benchmarks, also some that push my CPU usage to over 90% usage and it now spreads the load evenly over both cores.

At first I could slap myself in the face for flashing my bios, but in the end I'm kinda happy with it as I learned a bit more about my system and how to set it up for performance as it now runs better that it ever did before. :)
Thanks for your reply though ;)

The fileplanet links give me errors. Picked it up from your site GSH, but incase you rather like people downloading from fileplanet you might want to take a look at that .. ;)

Benchmark results:

-- 400mhz --

Overall average framerate: 85.801 fps
Overall average framerate: 85.692 fps
Overall average framerate: 85.825 fps
======================================
======================================
-- 266mhz --

Overall average framerate: 84.239 fps
Overall average framerate: 84.321 fps
Overall average framerate: 83.063 fps

So it doesnt seem to really have much of an impact how I set my memory as long as I adjust the timings.

Just install something that uses it ...
I just did a full reinstall of XP and havent yet installed a game, still do have 9.0c installed ... so it comes with other stuff ..

Else:
http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&source=hp&q=install+dx9&meta=&aq=0&oq=install+dx

Again ... google is your friend .. :P

Just to be very clear ..
This is a patch for BZ1 and does not install BZ1 itself, or does it ?

(I lost my BZ1 disk years ago and as I couldnt get BZ1 to run on XP when borrowing an other disk I never bothered trying to get an other copy .. this might just change that .. ;))

Kudos to you Ken ;)

And wether you can get of the first shot ...
A bomber would most likelly be able to do more damage, but if you need to pass by an AA-Rtank it would be useless ...
