Battlezone 2 / Re: Bridge bug in Scion mission
August 23, 2009, 02:27:20 PM
I had the same problem, I got around it by racing to the bridge as soon as the objective to destroy it has been given. At that point I was around when the AAN-forces knocked out the bridge and the objective was updated properly. (If I waited a bit, say to get in that mauler myself, the objective would not update.)

It seems this place is taking things a little too far. I have never met a sane christian who honestly believed that rock music was a creation of the devil... which it would seem they do.

Apologies to any christians here who believe rock music is a cretion of the devil.

About a week ago I had a little discussion with someone about the big bang. Now know that I've been raise as a Christian, I just dropped the believe as I do not think it is 'the truth', but I do know a fair bit about it ..
The other person went almost bezerc cause he wouldnt even accept me saying that I believe religion has no place in how humanity came to life and it is all directly related to the big bang.

Exactly what is being discussed here is why I reject belief. Belief shouldnt be about what you can and cant, but very often it seems that that is exactly how it is used. Kudos to all that belief with all their hart "with an open mind" ;)

Anyway, I hope you have great Lan-parties where you go cheesemaster

Here is the only problem I could see with that idea... The only way we could get their tech is by force, cause NO species in the right mind would DARE help our egotistical butts.

I mean we can hardly look to our OWN kind for this kind of support. What makes one think that others will help us?

Perhaps the other race doesn't really know arrogance or even deceit ...

Build 3 scavs, let the first scavenge. Delpoy scavenger 2 and 3.
When the first scav gets hit by the Gunspire, deploy it and be ready with your wingmen to take out the Gunspire. Build a 4th scavenger to pick up loose. (Now you have 3 pools and 2 more that can easilly be taken later on.)
Get a cons to the 3th pool and build 2 GTs, and quickly send the cons back to base.
Build a tug and 2 turrets. Send the turrets to the nav near the scion leader before you start moving (so you'll arrive together), have the tug carrying the cons follow you as well as your 2nd tank.
Deploy the turrets before you reach the scion leader, that way they are deployed before some stuff gets triggered.
Get the cons to build a relaybunker and 2 or 3 GTs as soon as it reaches some green squares.
Now you may want to race back to your base as its going to be seeing some heavy Scion units.
Guard your roaming scavengers or you'll be building scavs to create loose scrap, do not recycle scavengers cause you dont need them, in the end its more costly than just keeping it around. (It can save scrap if you have upgraded pools but need more scrap than you have pools, by building the scav when the scrap comes from upgraded extractors and recycling it when the scrapbar hits the recyclers scraphold.)

Mission has been won ....  8-)

[probably_wrong]I thought there was a way around if all groups were taken and bomber wasn't assigned to a group... I think in multiplayer the commander could give and retake command and have control of the bomber....[/probably_wrong]

That's correct. If you free up groups and than drop command and retake it all units not assigned to a player will be assigned to the commander ... as long has he has the free groups for them.

Quite often when I host I have 2-3 players (or more) in game .. then when certain players join everyone gets kicked when they try to join .. I blame those players connection for it and not my own ..

Keep a record of who causes your game to lag when joining and see if they get high pings when they're the only one to join, or if it doesnt happen if someone you know has a good connection joins as 4th+ player.

So far I can say the game runs fine with up to 8 players, but every player above 2 could cause the above mentioned problem if their connection sucks ... afaik .. :)

there. YOU TUBED it. You cant see a couple of the finer touches to the flamethrower or the slam/impact shell like ash and the fuel being spat out of the spitter, but meh.

Very impressive, even if the level of detail was lacking on youtube ;)

.... snip .... I hate to say it but I think a lot of the whole 'Vet' attitude in all games is feedback for running into so many newbs that not only are clueless, but mean about being clueless...

I think that holds some truth, but I also think the other way around has some truth to it. What I mean is that some Vets easilly spot a noob and dont mind humiliating him/her, where I feel you should give them some room (possibly to hang themself) and give them some feedback about their gameplay. I dont know how often in MPI I tell people/noobs to keep a focus on pools and that there is no need to rush the enemy on GH-maps as it will just cost them their ship, the ones that take the advice become much beter grunts in the timeframe of a single game .. and that again saves me the frustration of having a wingman that has twice the deaths as he has kills.

yeh, but hopefully we can persuade GSH to look into that :P

I'm not sure but that might not even be needed. Afaik you can make scavs that do not collect scrap/pools ... make one of those in a hover-variant deploy into a recycler ...
Worth a shot I'd say :)

The 1.3 Community Project / Re: Victory Points
August 08, 2009, 04:06:10 PM
Just venting my opinion here ..

I dislike the idea of "additional" VPs in this game, though I do think it might be a nice extra feature that would fit the game if VPs are linked to pools. So when say you have 1 more pool than the other side his VPs would slowelly go down and take away the "need" to end the game with a base-assault, which given time could be a really hard thing to do (given enough time to get overwelming defences up).
Linking pools to a VPs system would also be easy and require no updates of the existing maps, and as I already mentioned keeps the game as it is ... revolving around poolcontrol/scrapmanagement.
