Title: Startup Problems
Post by: lasorjolt on February 29, 2004, 07:16:19 PM
I'm having some trouble starting up Battlezone II v1.3. I installed Battlezone into a new directory and then patched it from v1.0 to v1.3. When I try to start up the game, I get an error and the game crashes. I'm running an AMD Athlon at 1245mhz with 1gb memory on Windows XP and a GeForce 2 card. Here's part of the log file:

It looks like you have a bad cfg file.  Bz2 found a problem in remap.cfg and crashed due to that problem.

Not sure, but try switching Audiocache in Gameprefs (in addon\config) to a manual setting, like 32.  Since you have a large amount of RAM as mentioned in the setting description, it may help.

For reference:
remap.cfg is stored in data.pak on my install. It basically is for the "insert CD" error. Your data.pak might be corrupted.

Alright, so I guess I'll download the patch again.

Note: data.pak is installed from the CD, not with the patch. If your data.pak is corrupt then your patch download may be fine, but your install was corrupt.

Well my previous Battlezone install worked fine. I guess I'll copy it over then. If that doesn't work then I'll reinstall.

Yay! It works. Thanks.
