Well, we had a good 3v3 going just then, except for one thing. Warp!
Now, we all know we get warp in 1.2... But what made it livable, was that most of the time, it was very predictable. I could work out a empty space to target, and hit jsut the same as if it was no warp.
Now we get to 1.3, and holy cow! "Call your momma, coz you ain't coming home" Predict where the guy is warping too? No way! I took over cmd after our last commander left, and left us in a tight spot with 1 pool. I got us back up to 4, with the other team on 1, was getting GT defence around second pool, and had blast/laser tanks. Very bad idea. In blast tanks, don't even try hitting another tank, it just ain't gunna happen. After losing a few tanks, and most pools, I got us all dback into chain scouts. They sort of helped us, but the slow backup speed of the scout, made it simple fish food for a sp/las tank, and hard to run from once engaged in combat. since a scout is meant to be fast and agile, as to scope out the place, and be able to do quick guerrila hits, then run. What happened to quick and run?
The warp in 1.3 is almost unbareable, and I have noticed it to some extent in almost every 1.3 game I have played, even though all my 1.2 games today were fine, so I'm taking a stab in the dark that it isn't this boardband connection sitting on a AthlonXP 2700+
It will most likely be this reason, not hover, that I will play 1.2 insatad of 1.3, and I'm starting to here alot of ppl saying likewise...
Hopefully, there is some way to address this.
Hmmm, I don't have that problem. I think more times than not that its a bit to easy to get a hit with blast. The ships move so smooth for me that basically I can hit them just about everytime. I posted some info at the GEL boards about the gameprefs file, try those options out...
I did set all the variables in the gameprefs.ini back to 1.2 default values. The scout handles a bit more agile, but it still lacks a bit more agility.
But I agree with the first poster.

Nothing in the gamprefs will make units handle like they did in 1.2 period. the ony thing setting values back to 1.2 do will do is allow units to brake the graphics smoothing code, which is what makes the ship apper behind where it realy is.
