Title: Account Deletion Request
Post by: Red Devil on March 07, 2004, 10:18:01 PM
Please delete my account/profile on BZUniverse.com as I no longer care to be even remotely associated with some of the individuals who frequent these boards.  Life is too short and too precious to waste it throwing pearls before swine.

Thank you and goodbye.

Red Devil, most of the problematic members haven't started visiting the board until after 1.3's release.  I'm sure they will eventually leave on their own when they figure out they won't get what they want.

So far these members have chased off two valuable members in this community.  Both Lizard and now Red Devil have left due to the behavior of these members.  How many more will leave before these individuals straighten up?

How many of you bothered to carefully read the change.log that came with the 1.3 public beta? If you read it carefully enough you should have realized that GSH didn't change the Hover Physic's Code. Flaming & Attacking GSH has already caused Red Devil, Lizard, and Other Members to leave the Battlezone II Community. How Many more people need to leave the Community before you realize what damage is being done by such foolishness?

Physic's is Ken Miller's Code

NetCode & Fixing AV's is GSH's Code

Lol, now what does this sound like?

But seriously: Please, Red Devil, just take your time off and forget about all the bums, but don't just leave all that is good about our community behind

I wouldnt mind if just one clown on this board would accuse Appel or Phoenix or whomever you all constantly avoid to specify to be guilty of chasing valuable members away. But there are already a good handful of them and it starts to look absurd. So much self-pity is hard to bear without becoming sarcastic, to tell the truth.

Insults have come from both sides, and especially the starter of this thread has posted hardly anything else but insults.

You really wanna leave? Shut the door firmly please and relieve us of your ridiculous arrogance.

In any large group (and BZ2 isn't that small) there will be people you don't like or who don't like you.  For example: school, work, a bar, etc.,.

It's not necessary to leave and it's not necessary to make a loud announcement about it if you decide you have to.

I left RTCW Enemy Territories after some debate in the game and at Cain's Lair about spawn killing; apparently it's a valid tactic to use.  Doesn't suit me, so I don't play it any longer.

Of course, people that announce they are leaving won't have much influence, not that an individual does anyway, because they have said they won't be around.  Feel free to change your mind.   :-D

No point in leaving, Red.  You'll be back.  There's no other game out there that comes close to this.  We'll leave the light on for ya...

In general, I'd suggest that everyone stop responding to the topics that contain any reference to the hoverbug argument.   The issue has been decided, and arguing about it is pointless and annoying.  Let those threads drop off the board.

or how bad everybody sucks compared to you.
you think you know the community?
maybe, you know the clan community. But thats only about 30 % of all BZ2 players I would say.
You have no clue what else is going on with the game, apart from what you are doing. Why do you think is that?

Appel was kicked and possibly banned from the #bz2 channel because he went in their with the intention of causing problems.  I was in there when he was kicked and I witnessed his behavior.  I agree with the moderator's decision to kick him because of his behavior.  If he wasn't in the room trying to make the patch look bad, or if he wasn't in there telling GSH that he has to restore the physics, he wouldn't have been kicked.  Because he insisted on expressing his opinion when he was told the patch would remain the way it is, he was kicked.  There were two moderators in the room that were about to kick appel, and GSH wasn't one of them.

You're in mistake Commando. The only time I got kicked was by GSH, and that was about 1 minute after he discovered that some OTHERS managed to get hovering back in.

Me and DarkFox (Edited: Corrected! Was not TV), and others, were discussing this, and I just said that I was finally happy and had no complains, everyone were in agreement that this was probably the best and there was no argument.

Then GSH_away renamed himself as GSH, asked what the fuzz was all about, I explained hovering was back in and DF confirmed that, he said hovering was a bug he'd love to squash and then he kicked me. I rejoined and asked him why he kicked him, he said I was a jerk and I confirmed that. Then he kicked me again and put the channel on invite only for a while.

Seems to me this channel is controlled by the wrong crowd if they are going to randomly pick out players and kick them.

But I don't care, I just wanted to make this clear how it happened, there were many witnesses.

And I also don't agree with people who say I have been the #1 advocate against this 1.3. I'm probably among those who have given this patch the most time, tolerance, consideration, played the most games and reported at many bugs.
Just because I don't agree with those who control the development of the patch, these forums moderators and the #BZ2 channel operators I don't think 1.3 is doomed.

Attitude is reflected by attitude.

Many thx Fish, at least one feels the same like me. I couldnt state it any better. The 1.3 Patch sucked so many noobs in here its not true. Along with this person and that backstabbing baiter GJC and some others nonrelevant figures. Sad thing some old timers checked out already including GSH, not because of the removed flight exploit as all vets knew about this latest after the big discussion 1,5 years ago, no, because of those clueless kiddos.

I`ll pack my bags here now aswell because all of a sudden i am feeling to old to argue with people behaving like 12 year olds. I will carry on leading RIP as one of the last pure BZ2/FE Clans, our recources will stay available for free for BZ2 and the CP like we always used to do. My active Ruddies will keep on showing their faces and voices on this board from time to time but mostly they support the game in active gaming, hosting great epic battles and teaching willing newbies the art of "battlezoning" rather than with childish vet-posing in written words as some of the forumhangers here. I can garantee as the Founder of RIP, that our clan will support this game with all our hearts as longs its lives online, as long there is at least one MP session seen in the browser. I am checking out of these boards. Keep on fighting the noobs who try to damage the game and its community. Keep in mind, they dont give a hoot about BZ2 and its real fans, they`ll move to the next game like ants and you are left behind. Ta ra a bit!

He is mistaken TV, from what I remember it was me, smokedog, appel, some guy I don't know, silverbird, wz, and possibly commando.

Appel was kicked for not shutting up about hovering. I felt it was quite OTT, but I often feel that way when moderators restrict free speech from anything other than blatant flames.
Appel wasn't just kicked, the channel was made invite only for about 10 minutes.

If appel was kicked by GSH, he must have been kicked twice.  When I saw him getting kicked, it was another moderator than GSH that did the kicking.  I won't mention the name of the moderator that kicked Appel because that isn't important.

Spamming & Flooding the IRC Channel will result in being kicked by an IRC Channel Operator OR by the IRC Server. I've already seen atleast one person kicked out of the channel by the IRC SERVER for spam\flooding the channel.  If the IRC Channel Operators don't try to Enforce the rules set by the irc server, then the IRC SERVER will.

Apple you were kicked by the IRC Server for spam\Flooding the IRC Channel while you were misbehaving badly.

-----------------------------------
Battlezone 1.3 chat Rules:

1.)  no spam
2.)  no excessive foul language
3.)  have fun! (Optional)

I don't care about the kicking. I just want it to be clear that I wasn't in violation with the above rules you stated, and therefor my kicking was unjust and premature. If you feel that I'm going over the top, a simple warning should do the trick.

1.) It doesnt categorize as spam when you're having an active dialouge, positive if I might add, with other people on the channel. This dialouge wasn't started by me, I just gave my opinion about it, saying it was a good thing.

2.) I'm very careful about not using *foul language*, check all my posts. I did not use *foul language* on the channel.

3.) Have fun? What's the fun in getting your ass kicked when you're having fun?

Appel has been in the community for ages sponge, he's a reasonable guy and the reason he got kicked was simply for going on about an issue after Nathan had stated he didn't want to hear any more about it.

I think telling him to F-off is a bit harsh, maybe telling him we understand his viewpoint and it doesn't need repeating any more would suffice?

Ah well, just me spreading the love...

Congrats, you just upgraded from Bronze to Silver. But for gold you have to write me a PM.

And no false hopes, I wont piss off, Im no sissie like all those valuable closed beta members pissing off because they cant take to hear that some people dont like hovering being taken away. This reaction is even double ridiculous since its no secret since 2 years that a large group of actual players loves the 1.2 physics and doesnt like to be ttreated like cheaters.

Its even triple ridiculous, this whole story, because those who made the patch hardly ever host game servers. Who do you think is going to be hosting your patch? Those you constantly call bitches, cheaters, low lifes, or those you constantly tell to piss off?

In the first week after 1.3pb came out, you know who hosted 1.3 games? Guys like Appel and Phoenix! Ive hardly seen one closed or not so closed member hosting any game at all, and if - then it was MPI. Something is seriously wrong with you guys and maybe you should really take a break for a while to let things settle inside your mind.

I do care, however that GSH put alot of hard work into this and these whinging sissys constantly seek to undermind him. I WANT THEM TO GO AWAY, that is all. I want decent men that have fathered this community like lizard to return, and i want GSH to feel like his time was well spent and that we are gratefull.

Unlike you I do care about the success of 1.3 because I like very many things that GSH has put into it. Its a fantastic patch, one of the largest game patches Ive ever seen, and made for free in his spare time! And I know that only a success will give GSH the feeling of reward that he deserves for his efforts. But - running head-on against a wall wont help anything. This patch needs to be hosted, and if you arent going to host servers yourself you need to win the hearts of the well-known hardcore hosters. So far you guys and GSH himself in the first place have done plenty to piss off those hardcore hosters but the example of Appel and Phoenix shows that their hearts are still open. Ive not much hope though that youre man enough to look into the direction where the silver lining still glows.

QuoteAnd no false hopes, I wont piss off, Im no sissie like all those valuable closed beta members pissing off because they cant take to hear that some people dont like hovering being taken away.
Not much human vs. human testing occured because the only ACTIVE testers were mpi players.  We occasionally had some human vs. human strat games hosted by some of the RIP members.  The rest of the strat members disappeared shortly after joining.  A lot of them never even bothered to provide any feedback what so ever.

Even if a lot of the testers were mpi players, they contributed a lot.  GreenHeart provided several new maps for the patch, he helped reproduce some AVs so they could get fixed.  GreenHeart also helped collect certain features from different editors, then he combined those features into one editor.  This is the editor that came with 1.3.  I didn't do too much during the development other than testing and some simple asset changes.  I made the current MPI, ST, and FFA shell files.  I started with the original mpi shell file then I modified it to its current form.  I then applied those same changes to the strat and ffa shell files.  The old mpi shell only had one page, which was page two with a smaller starting forces list box.  The original didn't have the option for selecting the recycler.  Only strat and ffa had that option.  My version wasn't streamlined so GSH took my changes and modified the files to streamline them.   If you want to see what testers contributed a lot to the 1.3 patch, look through the changelog.  You'll see GreenHeart mentioned quite a few times.  You'll also see a few more members.

As for your "closed testers" not hosting games comment, I just got my computer running today after a system failure last week.  I couldn't host any games, even if I wanted to.  When I get some time, this will change.  I personally avoid most human vs. human games due to the reasons a few straters mentioned, the warp makes it more stressful than its worth.

if you agree with us that there is no human vs human players
(and computer is preaty much predictated at some point.. at ANY game...)
and human vs human can triple the fun why dont you listen to us.. those that play human vs human for more then 4 years in bz2...?

some of us arent good with words (ammm me...) and some are just jerks...
but im still playing, and still trying to change things.. the chosing rec for "vets" with the hover is a great idea! but why were u planning to take it away again? this just pissed me off..
other then that i fully agree with GJC

ppl like appel and others complain and still goes on...
and u just bitch at em.. (not all... like some of bitch at you)
im sure you dont like those that bitched at you
and the straters that left without being seen... but dont u see the signs then?
something is wrong with the strats.. human vs human... correctly we are negetive about it but we're still here , trying to improve it...
and when we found a way on our on u said u will take it away

Simple to ifx it so you can have fast ships that cant hover, simple enough. I'd rather be able to make ships that can travle quickly accross the map wihtout needed to worry whether their speed breaks the pyshics code.

I'm actually more worried about trying to pin point a cuase of the "warp" you get in some games but not others. but people seem to happy to flame everyone all day instead of actually getting a game in.

I'm not taking away a dang thing.  I didn't program ANY of the patch, I only contributed testing hours and minor assets.  I'm the one WHO STARTED THE EXPERIMENTAL RECYCLER PROJECT currently named THE VET RECYCLER.  I e-mailed the files to GreenHeart and he uploaded them.  After that, I told Aegeis he could continue the project.

Yeh silver that warp has been and is still a problem, I wanted more 1.3 strats but had my rigs stolen b4 christmas and didnt get back into 1.3 testing until 2-3 weeks b4 the open beta. Also i thought it was maybe my 56k that 1.3 didnt like as many of the strat guys we tested with didnt make complaints about it like i did and do.

For the record the vet reccy is a good thing in my opinion but i am totally tired of all this bitching in the forums,
It's true we struggled to get the strat games up , a lot of the strat guys didnt like the physics so didnt test at all but in my opinion some input is better than none.
The hover subject was a null subject from the start so we didnt venture there and the speed of the ships manouver wasnt tweaked b4 release but things were busy and beta testers can only make comment and not alter the code.

Unfortunately some aspects that are good for mpi , instant and single player can have a negative effect on strat and as we all know mpi's are a different ballgame to a full blown strat battle.

For the record i have played several games with appel and he's one of the good guys in the strat arena "no comment about his posts as i havnt read them"

We need cohesion in here though the current atmosphere is bad and i can understand why it is putting people off playing bz2 or reading the board, gaming is meant to be fun and not a stress arena.
