fail :-P
It still don't load bro...BNG
you'd need the sun and big purple thingy in a clear view (without clouds in the way) so u can snag pictures of them, also need to snag a picture of a few clouds, then u should be able to do it. Just need to make a nice sky dome image (not sure how, something about wrapping the image in a wierd warpy ball) and add the sun/planet as sprites and set the clouds as the sky texturename
That is possible to make, if you had the original source images that were put into that.
(insert what GBD said here)
I am afride I do not have the originlal images, They are pictures downloaded from the internet and look soo nice I would like to try and recreate the sky, I did made some nice sky but there are some pics I want to recreate in BZ.
Just thought I would give you all some fun in trying to make it ;)

I'd have trouble creating the dome, but the sky sprites can be cropped out of that one pretty easily.
I have a snazzy little (big) planet for use if anyone wants it. This will need some clear creditation if you do use it though, it took me longer to make than other assets of BZ2 and the like.

make more :)
but not quite SO big...i dont know how BZ2 likes things like that (IT DOESNT) :P
Its called making things in full quality THEN sizing them properly, otherwise you get pixelly crap when you try to size it right. :P
nice pic - are you obsessed with planets now?
Same planet that was in that surreal dreamscape work I did, just isolated. (Notice that big river/gouge thing on the northern hemisphere)
while we're on the subject== my first attempt at a planet - a bit barren but would look ok for a moon

Nice! It would be easy to make a planet out of this by using an overlay.
Steeveo's pic looks very good in-game.
Question, though. How do you prevent sprites from stretching near the horizon?
Spelled my name wrong again...
sorry stevseoo :-P
After seeing those, makes mine look kinda cheap; I just use perlin noise ran through a few filters to generate things, looks very good, but comparatively there is no work on my part. >.>

Im pretty good at making 2 DIMENSIONAL skies, anyone got a tutorial on how to warp it so it wraps correctly?
Example: (For those of you who havent seen it)

Anyone got a tut on how to warp it into a skin for a skydome?
In PSP8 (the one I have, yes I know it is old) it has a tile mode where the picture is placed in the center, and it wraps around as you scroll, so you can literally draw off the edge and you end up drawing on the other side. I do not know if it is a plugin or whatever, made it made things like that much easier.
You could always just render a 3d scene in Bryce or whatever, then render a 360 panoramic view...

Yeah, failed attempt at stratus clouds (Filter-->Render-->Clouds then transformed it by bending and applying a vanishing point technique, didnt turn out right but still looks good in total)
The stock bz2 domes are, well domes... the UV mapping on them varies depending on which one you use, you would need one that is not tiled so your texture does not repeat. You would want the image distorted into a circular spheroid shape, the main problem I have found is of getting detail to not look pixelated, once the texture is applied to the dome, the best looking ones I have managed to make are indistinct ones so that the pixelation is not obvious, I have not tried any bigger than 1024 x 1024, these still get pixelated when spead all over a bz2 sky. Distortion of a detailed texture also becomes obvious if the scrolling is turned on.
Huge planets are best done with the sky sprites, but then they would appear in front of the clouds on the dome.
Maybe it would be possible to make a good looking "dome" that is not a dome shape, a UV mapped pyramid for example, but it would need very careful (or clever) lighting to hide the corners.
I have a plugin for Photoshop that makes planets in one click. Feels cheap though, and I still often make them from scratch. I also have a plugin to make space from scratch.
