BZ2 1.3 requires Windows 2000 or higher, you are not on Windows 2000 or higher, hence (going with my word theme from the other thread), errory-death.

1.3pb3 supported Win98 just fine. I think I updated the installer to use SHCreateDirectoryA because it's so darn convenient. Other than that, pb4 should work.

Ah, I have always used boost::filesystem to create directories and such (well, pretty much anything filesystem based) since I needed it, which works pretty much everywhere (that has a filesystem anyway), but I did know that SHCreateDirectory? was 2k only and above.

If your computer is from 1997 then it will not work. You need a 800mhz processor at the very least with 128 mb RAM with a 64 mb video card.

1.3 pb3 worked just fine on my comp (only exception is i had to use /nodxt), you guys must of (for lack of better term... put bulk ware in pb4?  :-P )

anyway my system specs are (this is also a laptop to make matters worse)

500mhz
184mb ram - (i have no clue how they put this much in a 1997 laptop)

Now i dont know how to test for how much mb my vid card is in this piece of junk so ill just put whats in display properties
Trident CyberBlade i1 AGP (51)

oh and a 5gb hard drive (really only 2gb of space for everything)... and to make it worse... ITS SPLIT lol

Battlezone 2 PB3 seems to work OK on windows ME, But Battlezone 2 PB4 Does not work at all, I get allmost the same error. You probably downloaded PB4 my mistake. Try and search for PB3 somewhere.

The original idea was to amp up my "ol' reliable", but 800mhz processor, 128 mb RAM and a 64 (less?) mb video card was the highest it could handle without blowing itself up.... but the ever expensive plan 2 won in the long run (im still paying this thing off)  :-D

Btw, my old comp could handle most of the older builds of pb4 when it was in its privatetesting phase...... im not sure how up to date it actually is on the builds (most liekly 12 builds behind at the least)

Actually, I think I'm using http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762131(VS.85).aspx (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762131(VS.85).aspx) , which notes that it works starting with WinME. Shouldn't be that hard to revert back to the old code.

In other words i shouldn't be expecting to be able to try this pb4 myself? lol... oh well,

and no i didnt download pb4 by mistake i just wanted to see if id get a better frame rate then i get in 1.3pb3 which is 12fps.... i guess ill stick with 1.2 as i get around 20fps

Btw, Win98 should be supported for pb4/pb4a. But, if work continues in the future, Win 95/98/ME support will almost certainly be dropped. This is because the latest compiler from Microsoft, MS Visual Studio 2008 has dropped support. DirectX SDKs have dropped 95/98/ME support a year or few ago -- but I deliberately installed the last Win95/98/ME DirectX SDK on my boxes. Ken's been using VS2008 at home, and has been pushing me to upgrade soon. As I said, if work continues, I'll probably give in and do that.
