Title: Unofficial G66 2.0 Patch
Post by: Commando on January 08, 2009, 04:09:32 PM
http://www.bzuniverse.com/~betadudes/unprotected/Unofficial%20G66%20Patch%20b2.7z

This patch should allow G66 to work on Pb4 and Pb4a.  This patch fixes the following issues.

1.  Allows the ai recyclers to deploy by adding one line to the ai recyclers, preventing them from executing the second terrain check.

2.  Fixed Fury and Laser Pod variants so they will follow their patrol paths.  Had to set CanAIPIdle to false so the AIPs wouldn't kill their patroll routines when an AIP changed.

As far as I know, these were the major issues affecting G66 in pb4 and pb4a.

I'm not getting the console error when I try g66.  I'll try plaining against scion.  If I get it, I'll upload a beta 3.

If you get any console errors after installing this unofficial patch for 2.0 then post so they can be found & addressed.  If you don't post the information we need it might not get fixed,

I know what console error he is talking about.  Some fvrckt00.msh not existing or a similarly named msh.  I'm not getting it in the latest version of 1.3 nor is it generating a msh that I can copy into the 7z file.  I'm in the process of installing pb3 to see if I can use it to generate the msh so I can shut that console error up for you guys too.

Ok I played X-bones and the first thing I did was turn on my force field and ran over to see if they had deployed their matriarch, they did. So I played on and noticed furies patroling, good.  But after 30 minutes I had noticed they weren't attacking much at all. So I ran back to their base and they had not built the forge. Oh and as soon as you enter the map you get this:

I'll test some more later.

I'll find those two weapons.  Are they in stock g66?

Looks like I'll have to install Square Eye's map since I don't see those weapons in my install.

Does the msh console error occur in pb4 or pb4a?  If not, I won't fix that issue since I don't run into it and it will give people a reason to upgrade from pb3.

I got the error in pb3 so I know it occurs in that public beta and I have the msh copied over.

no the console is not open when you start, on X-bones anyway. And those weapons must be the special ones that appear with Square Eyes maps. Scorch, Atomic Zap, Thorn Launcher, Electron Tag. If I remember correctly that's the names of them. Electron tag appears to be one of those in that screenshot.

Yeah, those are Square Eye's weapons.  I found them and have them fixed.  At least I have the console error fixed not sure if I broke their behaviors or not.

Basically what I have fixed locally.

1.  Created dxt files for g66.
2.  Fixed Puma engine flame bug
3.  Fixed Square Eye weapon console errors
4.  Took patch13.pak's fvrckt00.msh and included it in g66 to prevent bz2 from creating a new one

Gonna move my G66 from PB3 to PB4a, add the patch, and test along side SRV.

Should be fun >:D

If natty is around, he may want to make sure that ivars for g66 don't conflict with those of stock.  In stock, ivar30 handles weapon linking, in g66 it handles difficulty.

We played the Egypt map, which is about our favorite map, and it went well. Everything happened like it was supposed to. We've noticed that you can hear the wind from steeveeo's rec variant while playing G66. We even chose Steeveeo's ships to start with, which I have no idea what that does for someone even in his  variant. But we heard the wind motion even when we didn't choose a Steeveeo ship. All in all I'm frekin stoked that you were able to do this. I really appreciate it. Again, you rock dude.
All you modding, no bz2 playing, Combat Commander want-a-be's need to join us in some G66 action sometime. 1.3pb4a is supposed to accept more players at a time than 1.3pb3, so let's push it to the limit and get some insane action mpi's going.

Get all seven G66 files here, and do it in order as on the page.

I tend to avoid pb4a because of the lagout bug.  It's kind of discouraging playing for 30 minutes, being booted, having your score completely reset then having to rejoin starting over.  I know your score isn't even important, for some reason that in itself annoys me.  If my score wasn't reset, I would probably not mind being lagged out as much.  I'm not saying I wouldn't mind it at all since having to wait to reenter the map is a pain too.

GreenHeart and I did play a game of G66 earlier today in the private beta and it seemed to work fine.  GH ended up picking Canyon which isn't one of my favorite maps for some reason.

I've had 4 people in a 3 hr game durring SRV beta testing many times...

Standing completely still durring other people joining seems to ensure a good resync.

Yep, that's similar to why people stand still while they're getting beamed up (or down) from the USS Enterprise.

Out of curiosity, why were the .xsis used in G66 never released?  I'm just curious.  The only one available is the Puma and that is because it was in the FleshStorm DevPack.

The FS Black Dog Puma is a brand new unit and not the one in G66.

The XSI is the same other than the skin used on the XSI.  I took the Fleshstorm puma and edited the xsi in wordpad replacing the skin called by the xsi.

I love the Puma.

FS's Puma, like FS's RedDevil, is completely custom.
(Note, first puma from Starfleet)

if you ask me, just needs a little more shape, like the ISDF sabre has the underside 'skirt'. looks like it has far more polies than it realy does.

not sure which version i prefer now...

You're right, I never realized they were different.  Hopefully Natty responds to my e-mail about possibly releasing the dll course so some settings can be moved to higher ivar#s to avoid conflict with the stock dll which it also uses.

Ah yes, the Puma... ISDF's attempt to turn back and bring about the NSDF "Bobcat" light tank.

I personally like Lizard's FleshStorm variant. The symmetry of the shape really makes it seem better built.

I believe both were built by Lizard.

From the G66 readme file :).

"Lizard" for the "Puma" and "Dragoon" light tanks specifically designed
    for this project (just what the doctor ordered);

Shouldn't this go under maps13 instead of under addon?  Also, you might want to put everything under one G66 folder like I did before.

I left everything as is because that is how Natty's installer places the files.

It would have to be split half here half there because of the assets. Ugly...

Ah well, when the time comes it comes.

If Natty makes a new instller, then that will be the time to reorganize.

He responded to my first e-mail saying he was glad someone was making a patch to get g66 running.  He hasn't responded to my question asking about the dll sourcecode or the xsis yet.  I also asked him if he was still needing someone to host his maps, but I haven't received a response there either.

We just played G66 on insane with the Sandbox map. Oh boy. We lost both times. Those Titans with Rave! cannon are so hard to kill. We really enjoyed it.

I just beat Vindaloo for the first time.  I think G66 is the best mod in terms of attack directions and pathing.  Attacks come from all directions, keeping you on your toes.

Commando, I've noticed the furies don't attack anything by proximity like they should. They do their patroling, but you can drive right up to them and they do nothing until you shoot them. And the service trucks drive with a zig zag action that hinders their speed.

We saw a missing pathpoint messege in the chat box on Sea Battle.

Windy saw maulers sinking in the East on that map too.

I know this is all stuff for Natty. Hope he can find time some day.
