Title: I think I'm missing something...
Post by: Arbystrider on February 05, 2009, 11:12:24 AM
Er, guys, today I was reading some posts and I saw RD say BZ2 has a manual. A MANUAL?! How come I didn't get it?! I only have the CD Case and the CD. And of course the CD Case printing was real, or did BZ2 come in a box? Because I was only 3 when my mother bought this, and I couldn't remember because I found it in the drawer after 8 years. So, um, Is my copy of BZ2 real or is it fake because I don't have the manual?

Please tell me, I feel missed out due to something that's not big!

EDIT: Hey! First counted post on BZU.  :-D

I never got one either.

I have bought multiple copies of the game and none of them came with a manual.

Mine was damaged in an apartment fire. I no longer have it or many others. But it did come with a manuel and in a box. I usually keep all boxes, mine was damaged in the fire also. Don't forget about the installed manuel under the start menu. It has been updated some since 1.3 has been out.

If you bought the boxed version of bz2, you got a manual.  If you bought it and it only came in a plastic jewel case, you didn't get a manual.

Pretty much those that bought bz2 when it first came out got a manual.  I have 2 or 3.

I will scan my manual sometime and put it on BZComplex.

You know the manual is installed with the game right? You dont need to scan anything.

Unless it is a perfect PDF, you are missing a LOAD of information. Like character sheets...

There are character sheets? Didn't know that.  Then, yeah, some stuff must be missing from the manual in the bz2 directory.

May I remind you it was my mother who bought this?

Anyway, is it still possible to buy that BOXED version of BZ2? (In Singapore please, can't afford to go overseas.)

Oh, and, um, does the manual have all the console commands and vehicle information?

No, would be the short answer. I've never seen a copy in "Half price books" or any other place. Your best bet would be Ebay. Or just wait for neilk1 to put the manuel on his website. I'm excited about that too.

It just so happens I have an extra manual and key sheet :D. I could possibly mail it to you via USPS if I had your address.

Edit: Oh, and, yes this thread should definitely be in the BZ2 thread :).

Also, unit information, weapon information, strategy tips, installation instructions, etc. are included. But, I couldn't find any console commands in the manual. My advice on that: press tab in the console to cycle through commands, or type "ls" to list all commands.

Are you sure?! Maybe mail it to me in another 4-10 years (Damn even the MAILBOX I can't access!)

And, what's USPS?

I'm quite certain. I have the keyboard/manual on my desk right now. USPS is "united states postal service". Do you live in the continental US?

Once quantum teleporters become the next coolest item to have in an office, then I'll probably be able to ship the manual and key sheet to ya :P. But, as of now, quantum teleporting is very expensive, and, at best, can teleport a single atom about a mile  :-(.

But it's a start, beam me up Scotty!

Go to www.waitlonglong.com so you can do that. Please also bear in mind what Waitlonglong = Wait for a very long time. Yeah. WAIT LONG LONG! lol. :-D

Also, wait long long is Singlish. :P

EDIT: waitlonglong.com exists?! Oh, domain sale page!

But, seriously, quantum teleportation is going to take a longlong time to have a seat on the market.

Okay, too off topic.

Anyway, what's a key sheet? Does it show the controls? No need if it is then. Just the manual...

Yes, you probably wouldn't be interested in the key sheet again.

But since you're not in the continental US, I'd have to use UPS (or FexEx, if they ship international as well). I've never shipped international. Sounds like it'd be expensive, but I don't know how I could get the money from you. (Paypal, credit, wire transfer? :P).

FedEx. And  :?? Get the money from me? What money? Anyway I don't have money. I'm 13, did you notice?

Nope. I guess I need to check profiles more often :-P. You sounded to me as if you were still interested in getting a manual, so I posted a new offer.

>:O NO!!!! I want it it is being used for all my IQ. Does that look a little familiar on BZ2MD, Dataanti? lol.

I still want the manual. Mail it to me in... say... after I get my own apartment (in 15 years, can't guarantee, and I'm NEVER going to get married!), or after my mother gives me access to the mailbox (In 10 years)? Thanks!

Huh, That's strange, Mine came with another pandemic studios game named Dark Reign 2, it's in those little paper packets that have the clear front cd shape. it came in a bundle box, Somewhere.

And i belive right, I think
Heavy Gear
Was also included with this bundle( I loved that game)

Im not really sure, we just moved so if ima find it, it'll take forever

DR2 and BZ2 are deeply related graphically. BZ2 uses a large amount of DR2 graphics code.
Title: Re: I think I'm missing something...
Post by: Arbystrider on March 21, 2009, 07:48:55 AM
But BZ2 still has better graphics, right?
Title: Re: I think I'm missing something...

They are rather equal. Though BZ2 uses a much closer camera (in the action not above it) some some things are better.

Purplehaze@: Looks like you got the same game pack I did. :-)
pity my DR2 disk is scratched beyond repair. ...

I honestly don't remember that pack having any manuals but I could be wrong.

If you look in the extras folder you will find an html copy of the manual.  It is quite inaccurate, like the paper version :D
