Not sure if I get your point, but for me it comes down to the following:
the only games that last are games with MP-ability.

For a long time I played BZ2 and SoF-gold, now I tend to play BZ2 and Battlefield 1942.
(I also play Morrowind and Oblivion, but anything else is just a matter of 'finishing it once, to never play it again')

Base building RTS and something close to a First person shooter or generic action shooter.
There aren't many games like it.  The RTS aspect of it helps in playing it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, as you can always build different units, set your base up a little differently, use different tactics.

The shooter aspect keeps you more in the game so you get less bored with the "overseer" role.  Or perhaps thats just me, but I sometimes get tired when playing other Real time strategy where you are only an overseer all knowing and seeing.

Sheeesh, I have to get out more.  I had no idea there were expansions to HL2 and Doom3...

Funny to see Doom2 on your list, I recently had a twinge of nostalgia and grabbed GLQuake.  I can't believe how much time I spent squinting at those dark, fuzzy levels, or how easy it is even on Nightmare to totally pwn the AI...

I have to ask what "World of GOO" is...  lol...

Still, I have a bunch of cool games also (cool, but old) and none compare to BZ...

And for me MP isn't as important for replayability as it used to be.  I guess I burned out on Quake, Doom2, Tribes and Tribes 2 as far as butting heads against LPB's, arrogant 9 year olds, and hackers...  In fact I think what turned the tide for me was getting fireballed in town in Diablo.  I was really enjoying the community until that happened, and sad to say I let hackers ruin the game for me.

Yes we do.

No, it is not strange. We have even more than you do and still prefer BZ2 as well.

No BZ2 is an outstanding and unique game. It is the only game currently installed on my system, several times...
Sometimes I think their must be other games as good as this out there, waiting for me to discover them, but it seems that there is not... GAME making does not seem to be nearly as important to the industry as sales and presentation are.

I must admit im REALLY into Gears of War, but thats XBOX based, for which im kind of thankful. wouldn't want to know how big the game is in terms of terrabytes...

However, my first thoughts where "hmm, i wonder if i can acheive some of this in BZ2?"

Sure enough... im trying!

Get freelancer and install Night Stalker Universe mod, play on their servers (take off at least once a month and land again to keep save). That is TONS better than Eve. You fly the ships yourself and can fight Battlestars against constitution classes. I personally used a special BSG Viper that was black and outfitted for bombing loaded with quantum torpedoes. I stopped for well over a month though and went back to BZ2.

I did that already. well I used Bing but I couldn't get anything specific. I also think that I will get more useful genuine info from someone who knows what it is and where to find it.

Thanks though.

Freelancer is superb. I need to finish the single player stuff. I couldn't get past the protected asteroid with all the force fields and generators mission. Tough. I have a lot of screen shots of that game. Never got online with it though.

Can you upload the online video game?

No, that's piracy - and piracy gets CmptrWz in trouble. Two week bans to people who post links to pirated material on BZU.

Now, if you want to get the game legally, try amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000085AHJ/qid=1051129569/sr=8-4/ref=sr_8_4/102-5143072-3819336?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846

I'm so boring.

Non-steam:
Eve
BZ2
GunZ

Steam:
Portal (+ portal prelude)
Half Life
Half Life 2
Half Life 2 ep 1
Half Life 2 ep 2
Team fortress classic

Half Life 2 Deathmatch - not installed
Half Life 2 Lost Coast - not installed
Half Life Blue Shift - not installed
Half Life Opposing Force - not installed

I shyte you not, that's it. Aside from console games - which are all at least a year and a half old now (no ps3 or 360, can't be bothered with them, did get a wii though)

I do have some other games sitting in my drawer but I haven't played them in such a long time I'm not counting them. Just a couple Star Trek games, Theme Park World; the usual junk you buy when you were 12.
