For multiplayer specifically, where players can post upcoming games.
Getting fed up signing in to find ive just missed the latest game because of my timezone. Im sure theres plenty others that feel that way.
People should post future game times so you can reserve a spot or something, i dunno. Be creative
Seconded.
Thirded.
I was working on this for BZComplex but I want a good calender first. phpBB3 doesn't come native with a calender since it is considered not a forum part.
Public Google Calendar?
A subforum won't work. You guys need to get pagers.
Too bad pagers are too expensive to give out to everyone...

Pagers are free, plans cost.
I was thinking of a website instead, such as BZ*****.com just to fit in with the trend...
If my multiplayer ranking system because a realistic possibility it could be the host site for that as well...
It would be nice.
I am working on retasking my old BZWasteland.com
I think somebody could do with turning this (http://www.bzuniverse.com) into something useful rather than a blank wiki.
Nothing happened for a while so it got locked IIRC.
just so i know, whats does IIRC stand for?
i know IRC is something remote client... i think :P
Might not be possible, but the most useful thing would be to somehow know when someone is waiting for more players before they start, without having to start the game. Like through a pop-up from Windows Live Messenger, X-fire or one of the Gamespy programs.
My DLL based achievement plans would work, but it is a bit away.
In theory, I could create a sub-form and allowed it to be link to the SMF Calendar, but my major concern is I don't just want anyone to mark events into the calendar. A possible way to address that is to set the forum to only allow a special group the right to post new topics, everyone else can reply and give moderator ship of the group to someone who can than add people to the group. New topics can than be linked to events in the calendar which will show on the bottom of the forum when an event is closing in. Any thoughts?
How about we just use irc.
I thought the idea was to post a plan for a multiplayer a week or more in advance. How would IRC accomplish that?
Because they never work. People hardly ever show up for planned games, especially across time zones.
Well it won't be too much trouble for me to setup the system I described and not put anymore load on the other Admins, so I'm willing to do it so long as there are several people who want this system. Not like it would be in the way of anything important if it isn't used.
People hardly ever show up for spontaneous games. Either way, the subforum is up now, and I'm glad of it.
