Title: which sprite texture is used for the hard-coded explosion scorch?
Post by: TheJamsh on June 13, 2009, 08:56:01 AM
from title^

I want to find out what texture it is that BZ2 uses for the explosion scorch it leaves behind. 1.3 adds a toggle for the scorch, but id like to change the texture used.

I think its just a color mark on the terrain level, which explains why you can see high-density battle areas on the minimap.

lol yeh i wanted to change it to a better sprite... like the one i made for the rest of the weapons... never mind! i guess ill have to leave a planar in every explosion on the ground now. easier anywhoo...

i had a sneaking suspision it couldnt be changed, never looked at it properly before though...

It's certainly a colour, you can remove it by painting over it in the editor. SRV managed to place a sprite over the top, though it was a little large and looked rather out-of-place.

the sprite is a draw_planar. thats easy to do, just has to be in all the explosion effects.
