Anyway, I assume you'd also want me to tell WHEN it happened. Well, I was editing instant action Chill, and I had a deployed friendly recyclear at -3000 meters, and an undeployed enemy recyclear at -3000 meters (each had a hole dug for them). I placed a scion pilot, and outfitted it with a custom weapon, which functioned perfectly (forced AI pilots to crouch, but they still use the combat, uncrouched mode of the weapon). It attacked me, but I spun around the pilot to its back in my scout. I killed it with minigun rounds, then I placed an ISDF pilot and equipped it with the same weapon. I exited the editor, and the scion pilot had not yet exploded into blood. The ISDF pilot had crouched and was turning to face me. The scion pilot seemed as if it was about to bust, but my game did instead.

I got this AV after I locked onto a powerup box, launched my custom rocket (worked in previous firings in the same and previous runs of BZII without AV's), then used the editor to teleport myself in about 400 meters in front of the rocket. The split second after I moved my rocket tank, I rotated it to face the rocket. Somewhere between right clicking and moving my mouse forward towards the rocket I got the above AV. Not only that, but in both AV's I got, the AV window was "messed up" check it out below (Running Windows XP Home SP2 btw):

Can you reproduce either of the crashes?
EDIT: The editor seems to crash with me if I open it twice in one session/map, anyone else notice this?

May I recommend only posting AVs that occur as a result of NORMAL operations? Shooting at things and then using the editor to move yourself a considerable distance or creating new things in the editor while old dead animations are playing sound like potential problems to begin with.

In other words, can you get AVs WITHOUT doing that kind of thing?

I have the same problem as MadDog in Public Beta 2 AVs #31, but I use Lizards map addon pack. Without the addon pack, this exception does not occur. I tried to open a map (seems to be any map) with the editor.

Lizards map pack can not be used with 1.3pbx.

It can only be used with 1.2 afaik

Yep, it doesnt work at all. Can't launch any single player missions. Havent tried anything else.

It being in basepanel is weird.  I've only seen that issue if I have modified cfg files or outdated files brought in from 1.2.  Try reinstalling bz2 then the 1.3 patch to see if that clears up the issue.  My first guess is that its a .cfg file causing the issue.

Compared with past builds of BZ2, sure seems to be pretty stable.

I meant the av was probably due to system instability and not due to bz2.  I had overclocked my processor from 1.6 GHz to about 2.0 GHz.

keep getting that on pb3 when I load any type of map.

Recent things I've installed: one of APC's map packs, but it shouldn't interfer with that stuff should it?

I was running BZ2 in windowed mode(watching the desktop,was waiting for someone to log onto AIM)
When I loaded the map,it was fine,then I opened the options menu,then remembered I couldn't edit the light amount(didn't touch it).
As I resumed,the FPS went over 120,and there was lag between the input and the game response,so I opened the commandline(took it about 3 seconds from me clicking anything to action,or using the mouse took slightly longer.)I tried to check the memstats and some other stuff,and as  I exited the console ,the game locked up(windows still responded though),while playing a warning sound for a base under attack,and the radar ping in a loop.
Note:no enemies where in the base.

EDIT: Hmmm, none of this info looks right. August 10th!?!?! No, It's November 11th. And it's roughly 10:11 pm, not 7:49.

So maybe this is totally useless. But here it is, in case it holds any shred of hope.

EDIT: More not-funness. After I got bz2 running (by right clicking on mm5 and using Run As, Windows blew up on me ingame. During a mp game, (ffa, I don't remember the map name, but it was moon-based poorly designed (scavs kept getting stuck). Right before windows went, I tried to group my 2 groups of turrets together. (F2 and F5) I think. Windows didnt exactly bsod, but I DID see some sort of command line right before windows rebooted. Couldnt catch the message.

Found it. All it was was running Winamp also when I started up BZ2. If I start BZ2 THEN start winamp, tis fine.

Odd. I use Winamp (v5.24 right now) pretty much constantly, and have never had problems starting up BZ2 with it running. I do have a classic skin enabled, and no visualizations.

I use Quintessential and VideoLan's VLC for audio players, never had any problem with anything.  Probably WinAmp's modern skin setup or some plugin you have?

Yeah that's what I guessed also. It's wierd, when I run bz2, then minimize it and start up Winamp, it runs choppily for a few seconds then plays normal. It's quite bizarre.

If it does that every time, you may need to kill that installation or reinstall bz2 over itself.  I've had an installation go completely corrupt on me too.  I think it has something to do with the editor.

I got this av after I was editing a instant action map. this is the second time this has happened. after I save the map and try to open bz, I get this av and can not open bz. It seems to happen when I have to go back in a map and change a few things and delete the recyclers. I already did a reinstall, is there a way to fix this without reinstalling again?

Everytime I try and run a sungle player map. I'm hoping I dont have to reinstall.... Tried the re-doing log.ini, didnt help...

My first suspicion is an issue with one of your .cfg files due to the BasePanel.  Try redownloading 1.3 and reinstalling it.

The basepanel AV is probably due to a mod that added in its own bzgame_base.cfg. 1.3pb3 added items to that file, but a lot of mods haven't caught up. Uninstall them for now.

Occurrs when trying to play an Uler mission in the 1.3 editor build.  Doesn't happen in the regular build.

The uler uses its own dlls which is probably the cause.  Especially when it only occurs in the editor.  The editor and bzone.exe both use different dlls.  The uler mod has the dlls for bzone.exe but not for bzedit.exe.

Yeah, I read that, the bzedit.exe dlls need to have Editor at the end of the file name.  I'm quite certain those and FE missions worked fine in the previous 1.3 version I had with that tiny modification.

I have a real odd av thats bugging me.
Legions of skaro, mpi game, all works well, game ends, back out to main screen, close BZ.

The log is normal showing no av, no other details are displayed, av screen is partaly drawn like it forgot something....
I am using ai aircraftclass, I suspect it is linked to that, but have no firm evidence yet.

Ai aircraft do a funny thing when you ask them to pick you up, pilot jumps out, ship keeps deploying-undeploying untill you get into it.

Unfortunately any AVs you post will most likely be useless.  Unless that AV can be reproduced in the latest builds, there isn't much hope that it will get fixed.

Only if they had the editor linked in when built, or were done through the Scriptor after a certain version.

After I comment out the aip commands that build and use some classLabel = "aircraft" units I have made this error stops happening.
I will study thier odf's to see if there are any obvious errors.

Try commenting out both of the following.  One at a time though so only one is used at a time.

If there is a dsparker.odf, the problem might lie in that odf since that is the effect specified.
