Battlezone 2 Mods / Re: IA maps for use
November 15, 2009, 04:42:31 PM
Yeah, I agree with the FileFront issues, had my own for a while. MediaFire is a good place to upload, and there are some other places as well that are good. I'll have a look at the map pack when I get a chance, some stuff I gotta do before then.

Also, might I suggest using the sharing URL without the file name perhaps?

To elaborate a bit, exactly what does this modification do? You didn't explain or anything about what it does, what it changes, etc... so I'm a bit confused as to what it does.

General Wiki Stuff / Re: Wiki Production
November 08, 2009, 05:06:23 PM
I don't really use Wiki's in general. Yeah, I can search them and all, but modifying it is beyond my capabilities. I tried a while back when writing a story and using a wiki to store character information, but I can't get used to the wiki-code and all that. Blows my mind and more complicated than it should be. If I could use HTML/CSS in it, then maybe I would.. otherwise, I'm just gonna read it.

However, the BZU wiki could be put to use to have information and download links to the popular mods and patches for BZ2. That shouldn't be too hard to put into the wiki, including information about the storyline, a synopsis, hell, maybe even a strategy guide going through the story perhaps.

Comm Stats / Re: BZ2 yearly tournament: Sign up

Heh, watching and judging is something I can do. Suppose I should gain the trust back that I had when I was pretty well-known back in my BZ2 days. (then again, I didn't really find out about BZU for a while when I was in SFP)

Battlezone 2 Mods / Re: PB5.1 Expansion Pack Content List

Oooh, nice idea there. Maybe for added customizing, allow people to use a sort of custom design to replace the ISDF logo on their ships, and... hmm.. what do we do with the Scions? The way their ships are designed is that they are made out of what seems to be mostly biometal, where-as ISDF are more mechanical, but still need biometal to function. So that's the only puzzling thing I can see.

Hopefully that is possible as it would be a nice thing to see perhaps. I don't think it is, but would love to see it without causing bad assets. (hence, the point of this addon pack XD)

Overdrive Terminal / Re: .:.FTD.:.
November 02, 2009, 02:15:58 PM
Mr X: Sure. I wouldn't mind. I have way too much free time right now and I need to put it to some use until I'm able to get a job. At least it'd be better than sitting around all day watching anime...

Heck, maybe I could be a judge or something, depending on how that's going to work out. XP Though, one thought I had that for the "spectator" bit, without having to do too much work, there could be a custom vehicle, say.. a scion scout or ISDF scout with blank weapons and only has blink on it or something. But, I don't exactly know how it would work out.

If ya need some help with running the tournament, I wouldn't mind. I don't plan to join any clans since I just play BZ2 at random times now, and after being in SFP for as long as I could, I couldn't break away from it. XD (Even though its closed, but hey, can't blame me.)

At any rate, yes, I wouldn't mind helping out with the tournament when I'm available.

Battlezone 1 / Re: New BattleZone Website - removed
October 31, 2009, 12:35:00 PM
This forum does run a strict, no piracy rule. BZ2 has slightly different circumstances compared to BZ1 because the 'official' 1.2 patch still had some major bugs and glitches in it, hence 1.3.

But anyway, there is no point in posting full downloads of either BZ or BZ2. GSH and Ken were part of the original dev team for BZ2, and thus, they still have the source code for BZ2 itself, and can continue development for the 1.3 patch. So yes, circumstances between the two are a bit different, but the rules stay the same pretty much.

Copyright laws stand for well more than 50 years I think.. So, yes, it is illegal to host a full Battlezone 1 installer when copies of that game can still be bought at retail stores.

Also, the administrators here work very well together, I even know a few of them here pretty well.

Ah.. been forever since I was last in a clan.. for any game I play. The only clan I could really consider myself being a part of was {SFP}, which many knew as Starfleet Platoon.

Though, for a game this old, I'm a little surprised clans still exist. Oh well, maybe they're just too difficult to die off and want to keep living strong. XD Those were the days indeed...

Battlezone 2 Mods / Re: Just a quick question

Slowly, I think Red Devil is paying more attention on G66 at the moment before he moves on to FE or something. You'll have to ask him.

We're testing out every kink in there, including some of the new variants included to fix issues and all that. Most of the bugs are probably going to be AIP related with the Beserk AIP set, which is deadly itself, but.. lol, I know something deadlier. XD

why? testing? i dunno but is really astonishing (strane)

To answer this part, people test different maps to check if the AIP plans are working properly and to kick out all the bugs and make sure it's release-worthy. Lately I've been helping beta test the Addon Pack for BZ2 1.3 PB 5.1.

Regardless, the shortcut method is actually a neat idea. All you really need to do is modify the G66 2.0 shorctut in the root BZ2 directory (where the bzone.exe file is located) and change the path to match where your BZ2 install is. We can help with that if you need any.

Haha, those must of been some fun battles. Maybe I can join one soon enough within a week perhaps. Would love to play with some people before the air show begins here.

[edit]
I was doing an IA since I was recording a video for something, and I found this weird bug (?) or something. I was scion, enemy was ISDF. I was doing my base building routine and all that, got my base all built, started building light units to start with before moving to heavier forces for later raids.

I went over to the enemy base to see what's going on because their base looked a bit too small on the radar. Turns out, the AI never built a constructor, and thus was never building anything. Just scouts and scavs. I think its a one-time thing, as it does work in IA. (though the puma raids are rather old since that's all I seem to be attacked with o.O) I'll see if it happens again though.

Oh, map was Ground Four I think. Better yet, I can probably just post the video later once I upload it to show what I mean.

Maps and Modding / Re: expansion pack testers...
October 17, 2009, 03:16:31 AM
Yeah, I'm not quite up in the post count here on BZU, but I've been around BZ2 since around its release time way back when. Even was in Starfleet Platoon for a while when it was a clan, then a fan club, and now closed. Sonic can vouch for me. XP Oh yeah, my oldest game nick when I first got into BZ2 was ScionCrow, then changed it to TwinShadow only in the past couple years. So yeah, I know my way around BZ2. Just the DLL/AIP coding I don't. XD (like I'll need that anyway for finding some way to break the mod XD)

I beta test quite a few programs, none of those programs I've really ever found bugs somehow. I'm available when I am, just a few days I can't really do much either because some event is going on where I live, and all that.
