Battlezone 1 Patch Board / Re: Battlezone Modeling

It's efficient.   :-D

(Pretty much every game model texture I've seen looks like that.)

The only limit on polygon count I can find in BZ1 is the 4MB vertex pool, so it may be less limited than BZ2 was before Nathan rebuilt the renderer.  The rendering system has a lot of overhead, though, so we can't go completely nuts with it until I add support for static models (which is a ways off).

Hm.  That fault address doesn't match anything in the map file, so it may be one of the imported libraries.

This is definitely going well.  :)

If the texture coordinates are the same, I could put them into the game as replacement large assets... :)

I don't have the original textures, unfortunately, so all I have are the palettized textures from the game.

It looks like the 1.4 Grizzly cockpit geometry is using a cannon meant for the Czar.  :)

That blows :(

The problem is that data1.cab contains the actual game content...

While you can copy the contents of the install data folder from the Battlezone 1 CD without using the installer, the Battlezone 2 CD isn't as convenient.  The data1.cab file seems to be in some oddball proprietary format.

You could try copying the Setup folder to your hard drive and running setup.exe from inside it.  If that doesn't work, I guess I could mail you the setup.exe since it's so small.

Dual SP-Stabber does a fine job, too.   :-D

See, I learned something.   :-D
#13
Ah, right.  I haven't touched that yet.

I'll try breaking open the ZFS to look, but I'm pretty sure the avtank.vdf in there is what's currently in use.  There isn't anything in addon to override it, at least.

Its damage does seem low, but I think that was to balance its omnidirectional fire-and-forget "death from above" targeting.  I think it would be safer to reduce its extraordinarily high ammo cost a bit than increase its damage.
