I haven't done anything for the last day or so, been transferring everything over to my new rig...

well, ok, I did do a bit to Wall's beautiful model...

I hope the cannon support is not too big, was a bit of a problem... also, how does way of attachment between the two cannons seem to you guys? haven't done the railing yet...

have you guys actually seen the models in the intro? Those things are soooooo detailed, that when I try to replicate them from the ingame models, it make me want to scream. I mean, really, I'll post a pic to show how detailed they are. maybe it's in part, because I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this kinda thing, AND, that I know what I want it to look like, but I don't know how to do it, which drives me insane. I need more practice, and I guess if I keep at it, I might get better... maybe.  :-(

you are VERY good Wall.

Do the old original models that made the intro still exist? 'Cause that's all I am trying to create... Has anyone ever tried to make the models from the intro? Could someone with more talent than I do, do it? All I've been doing is editing the stock models...

Overdrive Terminal / Re: pins came off cpu...
December 21, 2009, 06:36:59 PM
I wouldn't know, cause it was given to me, and all I've ever dealt with is p3's and p4's. looks like your right, but man, I was about to go scream at intel because I'm used to the pins being on the cpu, not the mobo.

<has shrunken to the size of a flea from embarrassment>

EDIT: and 939's

Overdrive Terminal / pins came off cpu...
December 21, 2009, 06:04:53 PM
yep, you read that right... when I carefully lifted the cpu out of the socket, all of the 775 pins were still sitting in the socket. they were cleanly unattached. When I say unattached, I mean unbent, unbroken, or any other something that I may have done. My mobo is an ASUS P5N32-E SLI. I had taken the fan off very carefully, so as to not pull the cpu out, but when I did lift it out(the cpu) it was not attached to the pins.

I had purchased a new mobo because the p5b32-e's bios went bonkers, and the backup chip was corrupted. I would have rma'd it, but I lost the papers. It was old, so I bought a new one, never thinking to order another cpu, cause it was more recent.

once I find the papers for the cpu, I'll send it in, but I'm not sure if intel will fix that; does anyone have any past experience with this kind of thing?

I was looking at the intro, and it looks a little different how they did the guns... but I don't care; it would be a horrendous task for a beginner to do. (Wall, this is were you come in...)

Nope, that looks like a hand railing to me.  A single railing with the shadow under it.

LOL! I just realized what you said! I was watching the intro for some help w/the razor, and I saw it is indeed a single railing that gos around the turret.

wow, that looks REALLY nice Wall. Its kinda like Avartar said: in max you move it out until it looks good, in CAD, that side is 4.1275. Yours looks really sharp. All you'd need to be complete is the cannon. Looks so much better than mine, but then again, I'm just starting this 3d stuff, while you've had years of experience...

I smoothed the sides a bit...

and for comparison, the stock model...

Hey josiah, on the pic that has the razor shooting, it looks like there's indented lines on the back of the wings, like flaps on aircrafts.

It looks like one aileron and one flap per 'wing'. I'll see what I can do...  :-D

I fixed it! pushed the guns apart, and made the stabilizers more like wings(thinner)...

this is becoming nice looking...
