Anyway, I assume you'd also want me to tell WHEN it happened. Well, I was editing instant action Chill, and I had a deployed friendly recyclear at -3000 meters, and an undeployed enemy recyclear at -3000 meters (each had a hole dug for them). I placed a scion pilot, and outfitted it with a custom weapon, which functioned perfectly (forced AI pilots to crouch, but they still use the combat, uncrouched mode of the weapon). It attacked me, but I spun around the pilot to its back in my scout. I killed it with minigun rounds, then I placed an ISDF pilot and equipped it with the same weapon. I exited the editor, and the scion pilot had not yet exploded into blood. The ISDF pilot had crouched and was turning to face me. The scion pilot seemed as if it was about to bust, but my game did instead.

I got this AV after I locked onto a powerup box, launched my custom rocket (worked in previous firings in the same and previous runs of BZII without AV's), then used the editor to teleport myself in about 400 meters in front of the rocket. The split second after I moved my rocket tank, I rotated it to face the rocket. Somewhere between right clicking and moving my mouse forward towards the rocket I got the above AV. Not only that, but in both AV's I got, the AV window was "messed up" check it out below (Running Windows XP Home SP2 btw):

Can you reproduce either of the crashes?
EDIT: The editor seems to crash with me if I open it twice in one session/map, anyone else notice this?

May I recommend only posting AVs that occur as a result of NORMAL operations? Shooting at things and then using the editor to move yourself a considerable distance or creating new things in the editor while old dead animations are playing sound like potential problems to begin with.

In other words, can you get AVs WITHOUT doing that kind of thing?

I have the same problem as MadDog in Public Beta 2 AVs #31, but I use Lizards map addon pack. Without the addon pack, this exception does not occur. I tried to open a map (seems to be any map) with the editor.

Yep, it doesnt work at all. Can't launch any single player missions. Havent tried anything else.

It being in basepanel is weird.  I've only seen that issue if I have modified cfg files or outdated files brought in from 1.2.  Try reinstalling bz2 then the 1.3 patch to see if that clears up the issue.  My first guess is that its a .cfg file causing the issue.
