Chat text is waaaay too small in hi res

BZ2 being an older game the new systems an run it on 1600 no problem but if you do so the chat text screen is too small to read almost.

 On a related subject. Is there any way to turn off the computer chat when playing instant single player missions?

Under "Options" on the "Play" menu at the bottom on the left.
