Is it possaible to make the Pilot Death Animation a little less of a '' falling over '' and more of a  ''  exploding with lots of chunks '' like it was in BZI?

Commando

I know what you mean, it is also a little funny that the pilot stops falling while the animation is playing.  During the animation, the pilot just hovers in the air.

Also, in 1.3 pilot deaths dont cause lag...so....we might as well....at least *try* to make it look good.

If we could get a possiabilty of a blood splatter on the windscreen as well, that would be ace. Oh dear i am evil.

Tempest Storm

Hehe, I'm working on it for FLS. Next time I see you on MSN Hemp I'll give you a demonstration. :)

(Its nothing overly exciting, but its a good remake of the infantry death from Dark Reign II)

I forget what that death lookes like, I would love to have it look like Rise of Nations.

stinky

HAHA, i love that screwy pilot death animation. Especially when you kill a pilot with something like a Shockrocket!!! He spins around, sideways or upside down, then he falls in that direction, LMAO at that, seeing pilots falling upwards into the sky.

Angstromicus

Pilot death animation can be extremely annoying. No matter how hard you hit the dead pilot, it stops all attacks, and that could become an issue when you are charging up a super weapon, and a vehicle jumps in the way of the blast, gets vaporized (pulse shell class), then the pilot gets killed, and is still there falling over, taking its time, then boom! A huge supwer weapon blast, mysteriously stopped by one almighty pilot.

i think what total was..er...trying to say...is that the piolet death animation, or 'corpse' so to speak, should disapear instantly. That is to say that it piolets should be blasted into tiny little bits that cannot interfear with the weapons the split second they die. And i agree.

When a pilot dies it should instantly explode, my reasoning being that since biometal tanks explode, why shouldnt the pilot's suit...which is made of biometal, do the same?

ooo, nasty!

Anyhow, it woudl be great if someone could replace the current animatino with a superfast death animation, one that doesnt leave a corpse that blows up a second later. The 'graphics' can all be done using the odf for the explosions + slap a few new textures in, but  the animation the bit that has to be gotten rid of first.

I'm thinking about a death animation where the pilot's armor suit decintagrates, showing a bloody coarpse spewing blood and decentigrating rapidly, like the isdf pilot that shows up on a mission fail screen, except that the pilot's death animation isn't acutally solid. If it has to be solid, perhaps it should last about a quarter of a second.

BZZERKER

That time delay thing happens to anything that has a death animie. You can still shoot a cons or walker after they have been "removed" from actively participating on the battlefield.

Jwk the Hemp Monkey

Less than that! instant explosion of guts and biometal bits!. Now if only there was a 'wind screen' fucntion if you ram a piolet head on 8D

CmptrWz

At least with Constructors and such it is BLATENTLY OBVIOUS that they are there, and they usually FALL. Pilots have a tendancy to NOT fall.

Angstromicus

Probably has to do with the class, not the animation.

Tempest Storm

I think I've gotten instant death to work, but I've used it for a certain project that involves Satelite Mode so its hard to tell...I'll test it in FPS mode and see if it does.
