Hello Everyone.

I'm an old BZ'er who has installed the new 1.3 Beta 3 patch. Everything seems fine, except when I complete all the objectives in the mission On Thin Ice. Instead of sending me to the next mission, it starts me at the beginning of the campaign. Now I am using saved games files from before, maybe the first 1.3.(didn't want to start at the beginning again), would that make a difference? Also, I noticed the objective to protect the hauler or whatever we are supposed to protect is in red, like it has been failed, even though the unit is still fine and just about to start its trek to the dustoff point. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm, I dont know. once you beat each objective, hit "ctrl ~" and then type game.cheat bzwinner. You dont have to beat the objectives first, but that is one of the most snafu'd missions in bz2.

You said that you are using a saved game from before rather than start over.

Does this mean that in this installation of 1.3, you have not actually played the previous missions, that you are just running the saved game in the hopes that it will set your progress to that mission?

You probably need to actually play the missions in order in single player mode to set the player progress indicator. Playing the saved games won't do that.

Spawn

This is where game.cheat bzwinner is useful :P

Aww come on, tell him to start the missions over! When is it easier to use cheat codes?? NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-o
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Thanks for the answers. I tried the win mission cheat and he mission ended, but I was still sent to the beginning of the campaign. This is the same thing that happens when I do it manually. I complete my task (escort the specified unit, then it ends to the post mission screens).
I'm pretty sure my saved games are from 1.3 and not 1.2, just not the latest. The reason I don't want to start over is I've played the first part of the campaign too many times, having quit or been sidetracked in the process. I have finished the whole thing a couple of times. It sounds like I'm going to have to start over.

Red Devil

Yes, start over.  Many code fixes invalidate older savegames.  You could probably start at the beginning and use bzwinner on them to step through the missions to get to where you are now.
What box???

RD has the best idea, it's not morally cheating if youve already done it and are forced to start over, to me, cheating and messing around with the editor in single player doesn't bother me, it's harmless :)
