does BZII/PB4 use any height information with AI

im thinking in relation to tunnels... we all know the insano first vid on BZII when you see major mansons leg and think (wow look at that realism :D)

but you remember when the warrior is chased through the tunnels by the missile scout? dont think that kind of action can be achieved with 2D ai pathing...

im not complaining or hinting im just curious really, i know i can be quite demanding of people :)

If I recall, GH made some mean drones that enter tunnels to chase you...

I think tunnel buildings contain pathing code for their building square in the odf. IF you set the tunnel sections right in odf, the ai should know how to fly through them.

No pb4 ai doesn't use any height information that I know of.

Yeah, it is pretty sad that bz2 is three dimensional while the ai is completely two dimensional.

Can you order the ai to stage inside tunnels?  Last time I checked, you can't even order ai units to go inside tunnels.  They will just camp above the tunnel at the location you told them to go to.  The issue is related to trying to place a nave beacon inside a tunnel.

I just know on the G66 Mars map, if you try to make a nav under the bridge, it appears on the top of bridge. Or if you tell a turret to deploy under the bridge it drives to the top.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

 I was just able to send a Scout to a Goto point in a tunnel.
What box???
