Well someone had to ask!
Love the new Public Beta 4.
I think the Msl scout should get raised to 50 scrap for a moded ship instead of 45 though.
Anyways is it possible we could have custom flags in the game like it was in bz1? even if it's on certain ships like tanks & scouts.
I liked how they did that in bz1 and was a really cool feature.
(Also nav beacons instead of nav points was really cool too but that's just fantasising lol, in bz1 you were able to send ships to nav beacons i wonder why that was changed in bz2, I used the beacons alot in bz1 strate to watch for enemy ships leaving the enemy base)

General BlackDragon

BZ2 has nav beacons. It also has nav cameras now like BZ1 had.

:)

I too wish they had flags :)

I asked Ken about it in PM once. He said the old code was there but the network portion was gone. Never went farther then my small bit of curiosity.

When was the Nielk1?  I ask because I think Camera Navs work as of pb4.  Even in multiplayer.

Camera navs???

I think I missed something VERY important.

Axeminister

Speaking of missing something, are all of the new things you can do and build being entered into the manuel? I'm at work and can't check that.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Commando

Feared, the stock game doesn't make use of them.

General BlackDragon

BZC does  :-P

And, If the code is there, Could the networking ability be brought back? Heh...

I think it was in reference to Flags. Camera navs just need some ODF entries and a texture, other than that they pretty much work.

How much of the old BZ1 flag code is still in BZ2? Can we get it back (at the level where the flag is set by a variable similar to the one that holds the player's name or what vehicle he hwas selected?

The FlagDisplay code is still in there but mostly commented out.  I don't think the network infrastructure for sending custom flags across still exists, though.

camera navs.

basically are nav points that can be used as cameras. select the nav list with the tilde key and if one of youre units had placed a nav camera then the cameras view will show up in youre targeting screen.

units can also be configured to drop different navs now. thats in the the changelog and i dont remember what the code was. something like:

[CraftClass]
navConfig = "ibnav"

BZII Expansion Pack Development Leader. Coming Soon.

For anybody who doesnt know, bz1 multiplayer let you have a miniture flag of your choice above every unit on your team.
Others would merely say it was good humour.
