TA5 Bugs or Issues (Someone had to start it)

I got this running an mpi on Ground Four map on extreme. It was right after someone left then came back. I have been having trouble with that. People join, lose their ship, leave and join again. Or people leave and don't see another, better game and join back, then all kinds of little things happen. But this is the first time I've had a AV.

As "Play Scion" the mission "An Unlikely Rescue" cant be finished, at least I cant.
Each and every time I get told to destroy the bridge it has already been taken down by a couple of AAN-Sabres and the mission/objective doesnt go to the next stage.

I'll check that out tonight, but I'm sure if you just go back to base the mission keeps going. Sometimes you have to press "O" to see that the next objective is waiting for you.

Weird, it did work this time. Perhaps it did last time as well but now I also got the speech bit and lighting up of the objectives. I did race to the bridge right after the objectives where updated and cought the aan-sabres destroying it.

Killer AK

When in multiplayer killing archers seems to bug out the game and my chat box get's filled with jabber.
not sure why it causes the game to lag a bit.
this killing archer buisiness is of course after i've played a mpi or strate for a while.....killing archers as the first unit doen't cut it.

Still haven't nailed that down. It just fixes itself and shows up somewhere else.

Hi installed 1.3 tech Alpha5 patch on clean install (no other patches even 1.1. ) I get music and control panel to log on user name- But every time I type in name -message keeps telling me to log on again. Yet the patch is listed on bottom of screen. ???. I also not note after deleting bz2 & booting up again the only option i get is to re-install (not install). Ive done this several times . If i reinstall can play game with no patches. I assume this patch reading the details you dont even need the 1st official patch .

Starman - I bet you're running Vista or Windows 7. This is a known issue, and has been discussed previously on this (very long) thread. Solutions to the issue include:

1) Install BZ2 to C:\Users\{USERNAME}\Documents\BZ2 , and patch it up
2) Put something (anything) on the commandline, if launching BZ2 thru a shortcut. (If you don't know how to do this, it's probably not for you)
3) Wait for ta5.1's release.

Thanks for super quick reply. You got it Im using Vista Ultimate worst thing i've done. Will try suggestion or is it best to wait for the further TA patch.

Add /poweruser if that is what GSH is referring to. Its always on now but it's a command non the less.

IIRC fixed for Vista were made in TA5 but a small issue was in them that actually made life more difficult. Gotta love it.

I feel reasonably confident that TA5.1 won't be out by the time you reinstall BZ2, or just drag & drop (i.e. move in Windows Explorer) the folder to the path I mentioned above. Should take ~30 seconds to do that on your end.

When the Scion pulse rifle's ODFs are extracted from the pak and modified in any way, it seems that it starts to fire over the pilot's shoulder instead of straight ahead. Causes some pretty nasty problems with modding.

Where the the pilots gun fires from is determined by the pilot models hp_hand.
I don't think there is anything in the weapon ODF that could cause that to occur.
Are you modifying pilot models?

I don't touch the models, I wouldn't know what to do.

All I did each time was to extract them from the .pak and change the weapon's name from whatever it is by default to Ion Rifle.
