One problem with that, no spare CDs. :/

Got a memory stick 1GB or bigger? Download http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ , and a ubuntu iso from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . Install ubuntu to your stick, and boot off it. Problem solved.

I'll see if I have one lying around with a gig to spare.

I am currently testing to get a repro case, nothing yet. It may have just been my Dad's RAM brainfarting...

(Click it for more art, y'know you wanna!)

Gone to college, but I now have internet.

And another...I dont know what was going on when this happened, I got distracted by the TV, but i was sitting in satview, same map, same conditions as the repro test.

I was in an instant action game right when my gun towers were killing a scavenger on Alien Dunes. DWM.exe is a process in Vista "Desktop Windows Manager". What controls the special effects vista has. I recently set up dual view monitors on my computer, this may be part of the problem.

Do you have AllowModeChanges = 1 set in render.cfg?  If so, try AllowModeChanges = 0.

I would get AV's all the time before he added that because my card doesn't like to switch modes for some reason.
What box???

Not sure if you guys are having the same issue's but my pilot sniper rifle doesn't deploy sometimes..... :?
Aside from that this is the most kick ass patch ever!
Thank you soooooo much.
Would have been nice if you included the red oddy sound tracks and the bz1 sound tracks cause bz2 cd's is kinda short.

I get that on uneven ground sometimes.  I just click it again and/or move a bit and it works.

I added BZ1 and TRO to mine personally. There is no way to legally included data from another game.

That sniper things happens to me a lot. Since I mostly play 1.3, I cannot say for sure if 1.2 does it to, but it was that way in pb4a. It happens funny a lot with being in transition between land and air.

Thanks for the idea. I did change that value to 0 but still got it. I think it has something to do with running dual montors and a virtual machine running in the secondary monitor while running fraps. Since I disabled fraps, the random AV hasen't occured.

You should NOT have a VM running while you are playing a game...

2 monitors is fine though.

Yesterday I started BZ2 via a config file, the interesting thing is that on vanilla I miss the first login slot, on vanilla using a custom configuration I do get the first login slot.
The 'mod' however only has 'non-modded' vanilla assets, basicly just a collection of the assets I will delete/modify.
The only difference is that the config didnt load maps13/pilots/saved but RSmaps/RSpilots/RSsaved which only has some MPImaps in it and a few autoreg files. (which works nicelly, after having spend quite some time trying to find a "recylistMPI" as defined in the .inf files for MPI-maps :))

The only difference on my system since I installed 1.3ta5 is that I updated my nvidia drivers to the latest from some that where probably from 2006-2007 or so ....
Will try to reinstall 1.3ta5 on an other fresh install to see if the missing login still happens when installing while I have the latest drivers.

Check to see if both pilot_0.dat files are the same.  I suspect that they are not.

Check to see if both pilot_0.dat files are the same.  I suspect that they are not.

pilots has 2 users in it, pilot_0.dat and pilot_1.dat, both of exact the same size.
RSpilots only has pilot_0.dat.

There is no difference between the files that I can tell from just looking at the 3 pilots, they have the same size.

When I open the files they show the following (From top to bottom: 1.3ta5 1st login, 1.3ta5 2nd login, RSconfig 1st login)

As you can see the usable logins are both seemingly the same but the first login has no login name.

edit:Just made an other fresh install and installed 1.3ta5 to see if the outdated graphics drivers I used during the previous installs made any difference. It doesnt, the first login comes up with weird characters untill I use it than it changes to a blank line and pushed the login to the 2nd slot. Untill I use a custom configuration by using the commandline "-config [blah].cfg", than it lets me log in using the first slot even if the "mod" is plain vanilla .....

edit2: Deleting the pilot_0.dat and reloading solves the issue, it than shows "empty" in the first login slot and it is again useable.
I just deleted pilot_0.dat and renamed pilot_1.dat to pilot_0.dat, now my first login is as it has always been; "Red_Spot" :)

You might want to send the first one to GSH.

Which language version of BZ2 are you using?

Did you try copying the 3rd one listed over the first one listed and then try reinstalling?
