As I recall, movie clips are recorded in the .BIK format, but can the record mission output be edited in a program like Nero Vision II? I understand basic non-linear editing functions like trim, cut and paste and a few other functions that Nero uses to put together a short movie clip. Does anyone know if RAD can convert BIK files to AVI for editing into short video clips in Nero as an AVI file? Can RAD also convert the finished AVI clip back to BIK format afterwords? Tanks BNG.

I think I still have RAD tools and the Bink thingy already installed, but until recently never really gave much thought to using them. As I recall from way back to the 1.2 days a few map makers actually made some movie clips as intro's to their maps. Can everything be done with just the Bink tools? Tanks, BNG.

well thats just a converter tool. you may need to use another program to create the movie. something like windows movie maker or 3ds max render imaging maybe?? i dunno...alot of different programs out there can make movies or 3d rendered scenes.

I actually plan to make a specialist map that is .dll controlled for my behind-the-menu video.

It will just be a camera circling around watching battles between units in different environments. I can record this with Fraps if i must, although i'll probably have to purchase it. I can do further edits, SFX,  fades etc in movie maker or something, then use RAD Tools to convert it to .bik format.

You could also crop the watermark off with Movie Maker.

So what format does BZII save in when the record option is selected in MM5, and can RAD tools convert that format to an AVI video clip?

Nero Vision II is basically a non-linear video editing suite for creating movies and burning them on to DVD recordable media, but I'm almost certain the files can also be written to other video formats for conversion to mission intro clips for BZII missions. Is this what I've heard referred to as like "cut scenes in past posts?"

I'd like to included these intro videos in my own missions. Tanks, BNG.

Others would merely say it was good humour.
