As  a self proclaimed "old timer" here (yes...I was/am/is the Original-but subsequently copied...substituted and name absconded-wargod...(note no capital letters and no clan tag affiliation...although I will occasionally still throw on the {BZ} tag as an  omagge to Mowerman)

I still visit BZ land, both 1 and 2  for a occasional game, and sometimes a downright, all night lovefest with 5.1 G66 games(thnx RD for picking up Nattys work)...so when I saw Ken decided to peak back in to the BZ world and renovate and resurrect BZ 1 I admit...I almost cried....(of course...but in a manly manner)

BZ 1 was my 1st PC game...and I admit..a large part of my 30's and early 40s(yes...years of age) were spent in Bomber wars, Colli games and frustrated by start games that just plain ran out of scrap....But now I see Super Ken(I as I recall him) working to fix our old girl...God Bless Super Ken...and the BZ community for staying with the greatest PC game(concept) ever...

so...where does changing thunderbolt bomber...by adding normal hull strength fit in?.....

I don't know how anyone perceived the ISDF thunderbolt (w/ armour so thin it was like flying around a gasoline tanker)...could ever be seen as "balanced' with a Grendel..

Just a question...as the only player who ever had the T-Bolt license plate "I drive a T-Bolt....Am I f&*Kin' NUTS??!!"....I think its a worthwhile question to ask...

Before we begin...can someone post a working like to fleshstorm "1" that works w/ 5.1 and basic instructions to install..

Second...Is BBB aka Lizard?...God...I thought I had done all I could do to promote that guy "back in the day"..and now you tell me hs's still around here?...god..where did I do wrong??

Success....thanks to Vid/ SD/ RD...all contributed to a working 5.1  on win 7

and in the "location"...it will not allow you to edit/add...anything....it just has that lonely  Location   \:

RD has it right, regardless of where I put the shortcut...it doesn't show "swotches"....it just shows location:   :\ ( nada)

So...I copy the exe from the BZ 2 folder...onto desktop?

then?....Copy it?...or Drag it back into BZ 2 folder?...then modify it?

tried copying the shortcut to dektop....It copies over ok, but says it can't run, it is missing a FFC10p.dll from my computer

OK< all is "well"....EXCEPT....When I right click my Bzone exe and click properties(to change pathing for G20...the Paths are not shown in win 7  ??!!)

Soo.the plan is....

Get home,

reboot old PC

Reinstall BZ 2 and patch to 1.2

Install 5.1a

the install latest versions of rte 66 per instructions

Then copy that complete and working folder into win 7 hd


copy shortcut and correct per instructions on rte 66 2.0 thread..

I opened the CD, found the exe and set the compatibility to XP SP 3...then SP 2...no luck..

OK....So far, ZA was right...I installed the DX 9/10 update and that got me ruinning for the copy installed on my external HD...

Now..the thing is, that copy on the external is a rte 66 2 beta 25(or so)...Should I take that ext HD and do another completely clean install and update it to the current beta?


Then...do I copy the "installed"..BZ 2 directory onto the HD of my new win 7 PC HD?...Or do I just play it off the external?

I had a install on a Backup Hard drive but it gave me an errors saying "lacks d3d-blahblahblah"...So..I am stumped for the moment.

I have no doubt this issue will be figured out by minds much younger than mine..

Can't get BZ 2 to install in Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit...tried compatibility mode and still now luck
