Title: Battlezone Magazine Issue#4 - Released!
Post by: lucky_foot on March 14, 2008, 02:05:58 PM
It took awhile, but the Fourth issue of Battlezone Magazine has been released featuring an interveiw with Nathan "GSH" Mates!

You'll also notice that two links are provided. The first one is a link to the .pdf file while the other is to a .zip file.

The .zip file contains a goodie bag for all the BZers out there!

Enjoy!!!

Strange.

I just opened it twice one in Firefox and the other in IE6. Anyone else have this problem?

Works for me in FF just fine. Nice interview there with GSH .

If you want to make the word search really though maybe you should put my name in it (if it fits :P).

Both versions work fine for me in foxit.

On a side note, why do the bz1 players hate the bz2 players?  For the most part we don't even notice them.

<shrugs>

Dunno. Maybe something like the 1.2 vs. 1.3?

BZ1 players hate alot of BZ2's assets. The ugly color of ships, the bulky look, the lack of mp chat lobby, the physics, the flying, ....the list is a wee bit long...

I think the BZII ships actually look quite nice myself  :|. Heck, they should at least try FE if they don't like stock.

GBD,

I think I saw that list over at the BZ Club forum. :D

My Dislike of adobe acrobat, has led to me never updating it, attempting to open the pdf above crashes firefox (up to date version). which seems odd as it usually manages to at least open pdf,s.
Lets not bother trying to figure out what's wrong here, I have no time for applications that insist on opening all the pages in a book at the same time....

Quite, why are you using Adobe's version anyway, foxit is quite a bit better (no relation to firefox).

Tell firefox to 'save as' onto your desktop, then you can delete it later if you want. That's what I always do. Oh, and I third foxit, acrobat is so slow and bloated these days.

Its what happens if you don't choose to do something else.

I think I know the solution to this problem.  Here, I will show it in a simple three step process.

Step 1: Steal Underpants
Step 2: ?
Step 3: Profit!

It's that easy.

EDIT: Oops, that's economics.  I can't solve your pdf reader issues.

Not that hard. I just TV's Scrap Pool tutorial over at timedisruptor.com to make it. ;)

Heck, if you did not like adobe's or foxit's pdf readers, could always install xnview along with the vector addon and it can read pdf's just fine. :)

Just to reiterate my point about the Battlezone name, there's a new XBox 360 Live Arcade title:

http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/04/16/xbla-wednesday-rocky-bullwinkle-and-battlezone (http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2008/04/16/xbla-wednesday-rocky-bullwinkle-and-battlezone)

(I didn't know about this when interviewed.) Once again, they're trying to associate the name 'Battlezone' with the 80s arcade tank shooter, not the FPS+RTS that most members of this board are used to.

Sadly any game to follow our storyline would be Combat Commander 2 +
Which won't happen anyway.

unless we do it as a source mod  :-P

It's been done and it's called BZ2CP:FE.    ;)

that is a *mod* - not a new game - a source mod is one created in the halflife 2 source engine. and it would be possible to do a cc2 (combat commander 2) mod with that engine - just very very very time consuming
