how do I make a cons that thugs can use to build things?
:|
We've tried and tried SO many times to get the SRV Cons to obey, however the ONLY thing we've gotten a thug-controlled cons to do is to move......
I don't think this is currently possible. Thugs do not have any scrap -- they can see the commander's scrapbar, but their team's scrap is 0/0.

unless u giv them a hole new building list of new odfs and everything is 0 scrap cost

Actually, IIRC, last test game we all had in PB4a, they did work, I think we told it to build a scrap silo or a gun tower.
I dont remember if it was a 4-way allied or 2 teams, gunna have to test that...
Just make the object it builds cost 0 scrap and be limited to a certain number.
Hmmm
/me makes note to somehow set up separate bio-metal for thugs and add way to share it.
Have you tried using a deploybuilding or recyclervehicle? You could probably have thugs deploy some kind of a mini-factory, or failing that, a GT.
Ever deployed a scavenger as a thug?
define thug.
A thug is anyone but the commander in a game. They (are suppose to) do the commander's dirty work like getting scrap pools, fending off enemy attacks and do most of the killing, but all of that is beside the point. Now you know. :)
anything the thug deploys turns to commanders team, wich works fine for gt's. but i want the gt's to cost scrap, and power...:(

Since it may not be possible to make a con for thugs to build stuff with, why not make a ship the commander can give early on at low cost that will move fast and make 0 cost scavs (limit 4 per player)where loose deposits are. Make the scavs explode upon close proximty of enemy, and the ship be invisible. This way the thugs still defend like with towers (send one to the enemy extractor) and they help the commander to bring in the loose wherever they are without worry of losing their scav.

define thug.
:-D
thug–noun
1. a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer.
2. (sometimes initial capital letter) one of a former group of professional robbers and murderers in India who strangled their victims.
Origin:
1800–10; < Hindi thag lit., rogue, cheat
Why can't a commander assign a standard constructor to a so called thug, or is that the only unit that a commander can't actually assign to one of his thugs? Could the the constructor ODF be modified to activate the team transferable option?
The problem isn't that the cons can't be transferred. The problem is that the thugs can't build with it.
VSMIT.
Thus an ODF flag (or maybe default setting for that class that can be overridden by that flag) prevents the trade. It would be useless if traded.

Awesome, did not know that.
Could also be construed as a derivative of "Thugi," worshipers of Kali, Hindu goddess. Which takes a whole knew meaning into "BZ Thugs."

Quote* Nielk1 makes note to somehow set up separate bio-metal for thugs and add way to share it.
Speaking as a frequently highly stressed commander of fools and ship wasters...
There is no way I would want thugs spending scrap for me, I can just imagine having 58 scrap, enemy's with chains chasing me back to base, to build my armoury in order to survive, only to have some F@*kwit spend it on another GT!
I'd be foaming at the mouth...
Perhaps have a way to stop the resyncy scrap bar when something with a scraphold is transferred, that way you could have "Scrap Transports" that can ship biometal to allies in a way to carry out N1's plan.
They would have separate holds in my plan. I have to look into it.
Or a new escape menu that allows you to transfer a certain amount of scrap to your thugs.
Something for pb5 perhaps.
Sadly DLLs the utilize CFG input in MP are impossible w/o adding in a custom data pipeline.
Something they will find difficult I gather...

If you're going to derail a topic, do it like us pros, FADE into it by slowly changing the track with one semi-relevant post after another :P
But making a hard right at 80 MPH is fun...
(did I derail correctly?)
