I'm considering making it low-cost-ware.  I'm going to get laid........ off :) soon and I want to make a go at indie game development.  It will personally cost me enough to make that I think I'm entitled to ask for a few bucks.  I've been toying with $16.95.  we'll see though.  The biz may not allow for too low a price.  Most other indie games are $19.95 and up.

Not only will the venture need to support me, but I'll also want to pay heavy contributors such as Lizard.

I'm going to see how well it does in contests and such.  If it flops there I may need to re-evaluate.

where could you buy it from, like over the net or ebay, local shops??
Others would merely say it was good humour.

I believe he is planning on Internet sales so packaging expenses don't have to come in to play though maybe I can convince him to make a run of printed game with case, booklet and what-not. Like a "MAD: Special Edition".

I've already got my promise in to buy at least 3 copies of the game to give to my friends...part of marketing. :)

*and*

If you make a printed version, BSer, I'll gladly buy a couple of those. :D

P.S.

Oh, BBB, those tanks you were admiring. They do drive nice, I know for a fact. ;)

I think SteamPowered only ask for 10%, so you could ask for $19.99 and still be making higher...
Or something as simple as Google Checkout if you want to try to handle distribution yourself (hence paying for server costs).

I always buy over the net.  Easily my last 30 (at least) game purchases have been over the net (with probably 28 of those being over Steam...), have not bought a game in a store in over two years now.

Always; my main issue with games from stores, they come with freakin disks, which they, for some godforsaken reason, always need in the drive to run, so I end up making 500gigs worth of disk images so I do not have to do that (I have not put a disk in my drive in probably over a year, hate hunting for them, I have hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of disks, so hunting for one is never fun, nor short, takes hours usually).  When bought through steam they, at most, require a 'net connection (which you only need on the first run as long as you have steam remember your password, then once ever few weeks after that, no issue since I am always connected), no disks, no looking for game keys, etc...  They 'just work'.

EDIT:  Also, Steam keeps things up-to-date, never hunting for patches or anything.  The only time a patch needs to be hunted for is if the idiot developer does not give a copy to Steam so they can update their servers, but then it can be installed manually then in most cases...

I'd have to agree.  Given my limited exposure to it so far I'd say Steam is the least annoying and most beneficial of any of the online registration/verification/autoupdating/application startup apps...  :)

Relatively painless and insures that idiots can be tracked down and terminated...   win/win unless you live off of warez...

It's relatively easy to pirate steam games because the service is so popular.  Usually you can still play on the non vac secured servers too.
