The Gladius, a new ISDF unit.

The Gladius was the sword of a gladiator and was mostly for entertainment: it made an echoing clang noise heard throughout the stadium. In that respect, this unit looks more special than it is.

It still needs turrets for its weapons, and a purpose and general characteristics. To me it seems like a slower tank, but to another I showed it to it was a small space craft. The spin makes it easier to see. I was wondering what it's load out might be. I could use it as my 'command tank' as the command tank type unit introduced in the Uler Mod is just a simple just and paste for the ISDF, but I see something more in this. Hence, opinions?

Others would merely say it was good humour.

Right now (without turrets), it looks very much like a cruise missile model, heh.

(Click it for more art, y'know you wanna!)

Gone to college, but I now have internet.

Looks like it should be an APC for the ground. One that can defend it's pilots.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Feared_1

Doesn't look anything like a cruise missile, looks great to me so far! It looks like it would be a fast ship, not a slower one because it's so aerodynamic. :)

Very cool N1, but could you add a perspective view so we can see it from an angle? I think it could serve as a good multi-purpose type with different geo. configurations like turrets, pods, etc. When I build a model I typically try creating different parts customized to the base chassy and then add them to my object library in Truespace. Try some different layouts and post some more pics for us all to check out.

PS: Woops, I see I should have let the pic finish loading very nice bro!
When I'm not in hot water with the community I'm usually making models for BZII. I've made a few models for other peeps. BNG.

You always see those long lines of pilots walking back to base from an attack. With a ground APC, it/you could pick up pilots and bring them back to the fight. Use the "C" button to release however many pilots you have picked up.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

Well in FE you supposedly pick up pilots and take them back to the LZ with your sabre.

It would need DLL backup, but I am working on a lot of DLL supported 'suto classes' like portals and animations.

At the moment the unit has 2 combat guns and 1 assault gun (separate weapon groups hence linkable) and a special that I still have yet to make that forces near objects away.

Those would look cool stuck to the side of the Dropship.
What box???

Dianoga4

I picture it as a slower moving low altitude hovering battletank (once it gets weapons on it I mean). A real heavy weight.

Oh geez wait, I think I am looking at it backwards as I just noticed the transparent cockpit glass. I thought the end with the two ISDF logos was the back and the round part on the end was the thruster. Well hmm looking at it the other way, I would have to say that it actually looks the opposite as to what I said above, I would guess that with a couple of small weapons on it, it would be a lighter class vehicle maybe even a type of scout.

I guess different perspectives can sure change ones mind heh.

BTW how many textures is that and what size are the textures?
